Welcome to Santa Clara Meditation! โ๏ธ Have you ever looked up at the sky and seen a cloud painted with the brilliant colors of a rainbow? This rare and breathtaking phenomenon, known as an iridescent cloud, recently graced the skies above our meditation center. In many cultures, such a sight is considered a beautiful omen of good fortune.
In this short and uplifting post, we share the story of the day this auspicious cloud visited the Ma-eum Su-ryun Main Center. Discover the inspiring message it brings to all of us on our journey to empty our minds and spread happiness to those around us! ๐๏ธ
Yesterday, a rainbow appeared at the Ma-eum Su-ryun Main Center. ๐
At first, I wondered, “Why is there a rainbow on such a clear day?” But it turns out it was an iridescent cloud (chae-un). ๐ค๏ธ
It is a phenomenon where supercooled water droplets refract sunlight, causing the edges of the cloud to take on rainbow colors. Unlike a regular rainbow, it is said to appear in a straight line rather than a curve.
Since it was a holiday, many people visited the Nonsan Main Center that day, and they took a lot of pictures because they found it so fascinating. ๐ธ Because an iridescent cloud is said to be an omen of a great, joyous event, it is also referred to as Gyeong-un (auspicious cloud) or Seo-un (lucky cloud). ๐
What kind of good things are in store for us?
Maya Angelou, an American actress, poet, and the first Black female bestselling author, is known to have said this:
“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” ๐ฆ๏ธ
Just as the sun shines on a regular cloud to turn it into a beautiful iridescent cloud that brings auspicious news, perhaps this was a message cheering on the people who came to the Main Centerโencouraging them to empty their minds and become someone who turns the clouds of the people around them into iridescent clouds. ๐
I am secretly looking forward to hearing some auspicious news that will bring happiness to all of us. ๐
