Welcome to Santa Clara Meditation! β¨ Embarking on a meditation journey is a beautiful commitment to yourself, but it is natural to wonder how to get the absolute most out of your practice. Whether you are just starting out or looking to deepen your current routine, understanding a few core principles can make all the difference.
In this post, we are sharing five essential tips for practicing Ma-eum Su-ryun (mind subtraction) meditation. From embracing patience to learning how to be radically honest with yourself, these practical insights will help you navigate your inner world and accelerate your path to true, lasting peace. Letβs dive in! ποΈ
π 1. Ma-eum Su-ryun is not instant ramen.
A single meditation session might make you feel better or bring peace of mind, but if you do not eliminate the root of that mind, the feeling can be temporary. As you practice meditation step by step, the root of the mind that caused your issues disappears, and you can find your true mindβwhich is the fundamental goalβand live as that mind. π
β³ 2. Ma-eum Su-ryun meditation requires effort and patience.
The time you have lived your life is incomparably longer than the time you have spent looking back on it since starting Ma-eum Su-ryun. Therefore, reflecting on your life requires patience, and there are many parts where you must put in the effort to think deeply. The effects will appear in proportion to the time and passion you invest. πͺ
π€οΈ 3. Don’t look at others; follow the Ma-eum Su-ryun method.
When solving a difficult math problem, what enables you to solve it is not the help of others, but the mathematical formula. The Ma-eum Su-ryun method is simple, but the changes experienced while practicing it vary from person to person. Your meditation process is uniquely yours, so do not compare yourself to others. π»
πͺ 4. You must be honest with your own mind.
When doing Ma-eum Su-ryun meditation, some people are not honest about their state of mind. Be honest about your current state and your process of change. If you do not know yourself well, it is a good idea to consult with a Doum (instructor). A Doum is a meditation expert who has meditated for a long time and has extensive experience counseling many people. π€
If you honestly express what you feel in your mind, you can focus on meditation a bit more and find and empty even more minds. π¬
πΆββοΈ 5. Ma-eum Su-ryun can be done anywhere.
Ma-eum Su-ryun can easily be done in your daily life. During your lunch break, while walking down the street, at the grocery store, or during Best Health Dance timeβyou can do it anywhere. ποΈ By cleaning your mind through subtraction meditation, you can check what minds remain and look back on how you are spending your time. In the midst of all this, you are able to change and grow. π±
