📖 Introduction
Caregiver burnout is a silent crisis that can completely dismantle a person’s physical and mental health. When we pour every ounce of our energy into nursing a loved one through a tragic accident, the body inevitably keeps the score. The profound stress can manifest as severe panic disorder, PTSD, and inexplicable physical ailments. When modern medicine offers no further solutions and your body simply gives out, finding a path to recovery can feel entirely impossible.
In this post, a mother shares a deeply moving account of her journey from the absolute brink. Rendered completely bedridden and convinced she was nearing the end of her life, she discovered a lifeline in the most unexpected place.
Read this profound story of resilience to understand how the systematic practice of mind subtraction can literally breathe life back into a broken body and mind.
💬 Story: 🛏️ “My Body and Mind Felt Like They Would Die Soon”
By Hyekyung Oh / Age 39 / Level 7
2 years ago… Begging and begging to not feel this pain for even 10 seconds, I started something called ‘this meditation’. Due to my husband’s unexpected accident, while my whole body was battered from nursing him and taking care of the kids… Doing that for 6 months, my healthy body developed panic disorder, tinnitus, post-traumatic stress disorder, and all sorts of mental illnesses, and later my two eyes slowly started going blind, I couldn’t breathe refreshingly, and dizziness, suffering, and pain followed me 24 hours a day.
I tried all sorts of methods, big hospitals, and there was nowhere I didn’t go, and eventually, I couldn’t even walk and had to spend my time lying down. The illness lasted for a year, and at the end, I came to know that this body couldn’t be fixed and I would die soon.
“Giving up like that, while sitting in a hospital waiting room, I had the thought that I really wanted to live, and at that moment, a magazine for this meditation caught my eye.”
For some reason, I thought if I did that, my mind and body would stabilize and it would help, so I went there immediately. Going every day and lying down (I didn’t have the strength to sit and couldn’t walk), I cried all day and only did mind subtraction according to the method. It was so painful and this was the only way, so truly earnestly, not knowing what was what, I just did as instructed.
A day, two days… After a week passed, I could feel the anxiety slowly decreasing and stabilizing. Even after coming home from meditation, I lay down and did subtraction all day, and because I couldn’t sleep properly, I hugged the book for this meditation while sleeping.
I confirmed Level 1 in a month, and I was so happy I felt like flying in the sky. More than anything, I was so happy that the ‘me’ who was sick enough to die wasn’t me. Yes, this is it. I did subtraction even harder in Level 2, and in Level 3… Levels 4, 5, 6, and 7, I ran looking only forward.
“Like that, I meditated lying down for a month, and in the second month, half sitting and half lying down… In three months, a great miracle occurred where I could meditate completely sitting up.”
I truly learned that the power of subtraction is amazing, and because it is a method that truly works, I learned that all of this is possible. It is something I am so thankful for and couldn’t even imagine.
I am so happy right now. I am thankful to be breathing and living like this. I became healthier than before doing this meditation, and as much as I returned to the true mind, I love my surroundings more, so I even hear praise from people that I seem like a truly good person. As all random thoughts disappear, my discernment to see and judge things also became accurate, my courage and wisdom grew, and wherever I am, I became a confident and self-assured person. Even just sitting still, I am so happy that smiles come naturally, and all forms and things in the world are precious, and I am thankful and grateful. I think it would be truly happy if all people in this world could have this mind and truly live.
