📖 Introduction

Whether it is the physical toll of recovering from a major surgery or the mental weight of harboring anger toward former coworkers, carrying heavy baggage drains us completely. We often find ourselves physically and mentally exhausted, yet unable to sleep because our minds are racing with anxiety about the future or looping through past resentments. When your mind is too loud, true rest becomes impossible.

In this post, two individuals share how they finally learned to put their heavy baggage down. One stumbled upon a meditation center while recovering from back surgery and finally found relief from his physical pain and insomnia, while another realized that her obsession with success and workplace revenge was the very thing trapping her in a nightmare.

Read their stories to see how emptying the mind can lead to the deepest sleep of your life.

💬 Story 1: 🍀 “I Was Looking for a Place to Empty My Mind, So It Was the Luckiest of Lucks”

By Hwandeok Jung / Age 56 / Level 1

During my recuperation period after back surgery, while driving diligently to get some fresh air, I saw a sign for this meditation. Curious about what it was, I thought I’d drop by and registered after receiving counseling at the counseling office.

Because my body and mind were too exhausted both at work and at home, I was always looking in my mind for a place to rest and empty my mind, so it was the luckiest of lucks.

I entered last Saturday and started meditating, but for the first 2 days, my body and mind were so exhausted that I thought about going home several times.

“But enduring, enduring, and enduring again, on the 7th day, as I became the universe mind, my mind started to become comfortable. My aching back and shoulders are also improving a lot.”

In society, I struggled with insomnia, but now after the education, I fall asleep as soon as I lie down and wake up at 6 AM, which feels good. I am feeling a lot of effects. Thank you to the helpers and instructors who are helping even during the vacation.

💬 Story 2: 🌙 “Sleeping Deeply, and Anxiety About the Future Decreasing”

By Yooyeon Choi / Age 34 / Level 1

I was always bound by the thought of ‘I must do’ or ‘I must not do’ something and my own values, and I lived carrying the wounds received from my family and the stress received at work.

“Even while meditating, the faces of people from my previous job came to mind and I was angry, so meditation didn’t work properly, and I only had thoughts of succeeding to show them.”

After discarding my mind through meditation, I sleep deeply, and my anxiety about the future decreased, so my mind became comfortable. I feel like I’ve escaped from the dream world. Thank you.
