📖 Introduction

Many of us use our vacation time simply to take a physical break from work, hoping to recharge. However, even when our bodies are resting, our minds often remain cluttered with a constant need for approval, hidden negativity, and sometimes even a deep-seated victim mentality. We desperately want to be acknowledged and comforted by others, yet we still feel irritable, burdened by past wounds, and resentful. True rest doesn’t just come from taking time off from work; it comes from emptying the mind of these exhausting emotional weights.

In this post, two practitioners share how they found genuine peace and true rest through mind subtraction. One practitioner, who simply came to meditate during a vacation, discovered how to let go of the heavy burden of constantly seeking praise and being conscious of others. Another practitioner, a 22-year-old, explains how letting go of a strong victim mentality and past wounds broadened her mind, replaced her negativity with profound joy, and helped her realize that her resentments were merely illusions.

Read their stories to discover how discarding your false mind can help you find true rest, heal your deepest emotional burdens, and bring genuine joy back into your life.

💬 Story 1: ✨ “Coming to This Meditation to Rest Using Vacation Time From Work”

By Yoo Ji-yoon / Level 1 / Changwon City, Gyeongnam

I came here to rest using my vacation time from work without knowing anything about this meditation at all. So I just followed the instructions from the first day’s meditation session…

In the midst of that, I became focused, and by discarding my remembered thoughts, I came to look back at myself… I became somewhat lighthearted and free from the emotions I thought were difficult and painful. Me, who always was conscious of others, wanted to be acknowledged, wanted to be comforted, and wanted to be praised… I discovered that version of myself and realized that there is no need to do so.

💬 Story 2: 🌙 “My Mind Broadened, and I am Joyful”

By Shin Ju-eun / Age 22 / Level 1 / Daegu

At first, before the meditation practice, I was very negative, very irritable, and had a very strong victim mentality.

As I continued to subtract the wounds while meditating, my mind broadened and I was very joyful. My conviction in the meditation method became stronger, and I felt that the person I truly hated was all my fault. I will diligently do the meditation of this meditation from now on.
