📖 Introduction

Many of us live with a constant, exhausting noise inside our heads. We are weighed down by idle daydreams, right-and-wrong judgments, and a deep, unknown tension that often leads to depression. We constantly seek validation, compare ourselves to others with intense jealousy, and tie our happiness to external things like relationships, money, or status. But what if the key to escaping this heavy, painful mind world is already inside you?

In this post, two young practitioners share their remarkable journeys of escaping their inner struggles through mind subtraction. A 28-year-old explains how discarding a noisy, negative mind provided the hope needed to finally escape tension and depression. Meanwhile, a 26-year-old shares how overcoming intense jealousy, passive behavior, and the painful heartbreak of a breakup led to a profound realization: true happiness isn’t found in external possessions, but in emptying the mind to live as happiness itself.

Read their inspiring stories to discover how letting go of your false mind can heal depression, restore your confidence, and reveal the true joy within you.

💬 Story 1: ✨ “The Hope That I Can Escape From Stray Thoughts and Depression”

By Kim Cho-rong / Age 28 / Level 2 / Daeyeon, Busan

I was always negative and had a lot of right-and-wrong judgments inside me. I had a lot of thoughts, but I think I had even more idle daydreams and delusions. So my inside was always noisy.

I didn’t have a single day of peace, and I had a lot of unknown tension and depression, but while meditating, I was able to find out what the cause was, and it was great to have the hope that I could escape by discarding them. I came to change myself, but I resolve that I must discard this me.

💬 Story 2: 🌙 “I Hope Everyone Escapes From Their Mind World and Lives as Happiness Itself”

By Jeonghyun Name / Age 26 / Level 7 / Inhu Center, Jeonju

Before meditating, I really wanted to step out in front of others and had a strong desire to be loved. I had a very strong feeling of “If others are dating, I want to date too. I’m jealous.” I had a strong mental framework of “I like this girl and that girl, I will make them mine. I should take someone else’s lover and make them mine.” I was very easily intimidated and became very passive whenever I stood in front of others.

I first encountered this practice through a University Student Camp poster. Starting from the University Student Camp, many things happened. I broke up with the lover I was dating at the camp and it was so painful I could die. Looking back now, I sincerely repented, realizing that the most terrible person who made my lover leave was me.

The biggest change after meeting this practice is that I feel a lot of preciousness, gratitude, and thankfulness. I gained confidence, can put myself in the other person’s shoes, and know how to listen to their stories. I am sincerely grateful to have met this method. Thank you for letting me know that happiness is within me. I am grateful to know that money, a good house, and a good car are not happiness, but just being like this itself is joy and happiness itself. Thank you for allowing me to see the other person exactly as they are. I hope everyone escapes from their own mind world and lives as happiness itself.
