π Introduction
How often do you get trapped in your own head, overthinking every little detail instead of simply taking action? We spend so much time tied to our thoughts, paralyzed by a heavy mind world full of stress, worldly desires, and burdens. Locked inside this mental bubble, we not only hold ourselves back, but we also become self-centeredβoften unintentionally causing pain and leaving scars on the people around us. We believe this heavy, anxious version of ourselves is who we really are. But what happens when you look back, reflect on your actions, and discard the fake world that has been paralyzing you?
In this post, two practitioners share the liberating relief of honest self-reflection. A 23-year-old shares how discarding her mental pictures cured her habit of overthinking, allowing her to finally take immediate action and live joyfully in the present. Meanwhile, a 48-year-old shares a deeply moving experience of shedding tears of repentance after realizing their past selfishness, ultimately finding a profound peace they had never known before.
Read their inspiring stories to see how mind subtraction can cure overthinking, open a closed heart, and bring true freedom from the burdens of the past.
π¬ Story 1: π “The Time Tied to My Mind Has Decreased, and I Put Things Into Action Right Away”
By Minju Kang / Age 23 / Level 1
What I felt while meditating was that as I discarded the pictures of the mind, which are the remembered thoughts accumulated over my life, I could clearly see why I had done such actions and thought such thoughts. And as I discarded that too, I felt that the ‘me’ who was tied to those pictures was gradually disappearing.
“And I became certain that the ‘me’ I had thought was me all this time was only created in my mind. Also, as I kept discarding the pictures, the thoughts tied to ‘me’ decreased, and the present is comfortable and joyful.”
Furthermore, after discarding the pictures that prevented me from putting things into action right away instead of just thinking, I am happy that I can put them into action right away.

π¬ Story 2: π§ “How Many Tears of Repentance I Shed Looking Back on Myself”
By Hangin Ma / Age 48 / Level 2
Regular group life after a very long time was unfamiliar and awkward at first, making me restless, but as time passed, under the warm guidance of the helpers and clear education time, that awkwardness quickly melted away like snow, making me feel a harmonious atmosphere like a gathering of relatives.
“In meditating, I was able to find the most important point: peace of mind. It was a truly precious time that gave me the certainty and hope that I could enjoy great freedom escaping from pain, burdens, stress, and tens of thousands of worldly desires in the fake world inside my mind, which I hadn’t felt or known at all before meditating.”
Now, my closed heart has opened a lot, and looking back at the past time, I realized the fact that I was selfish, self-centered, and caused scars and pain to others, and I don’t know how many tears of repentance I shed.
If I return to my daily life after this time passes, my honest mind right now is that I want to tell the precious people around me, no, the people I meet, about this meditation whenever the conditions allow, and live with the universe mind together. I express my sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone who brightened this place today.
