πŸ“– Introduction

Retirement is supposed to be a golden era of rest and freedom. Yet, for many, the sudden stop in daily routine leaves them wondering what to do next. When the busyness of life fades, we are often left alone with our past. Looking back, we might suddenly feel that we lived in vainβ€”realizing how much time we wasted throwing tantrums, getting angry, and acting selfishly. We carry the heavy burden of remorse, blaming others for the heartaches we actually caused ourselves, and holding onto deep resentments toward people we “hated to death.” But what if retirement could be the perfect opportunity to finally clear away that lifetime of mental baggage?

In this post, a 64-year-old woman shares an incredibly honest and moving reflection on her life. Facing retirement without a plan, she decided to confront the intense battle within her own mind. Through this rigorous but rewarding process, she dropped her lifelong habit of blaming others, forgave those she once deeply resented, and discovered the absolute best gift for her next chapter in life.

Read her inspiring story to see how mind subtraction can turn a retirement filled with past regrets into a future filled with daily joy.

πŸ’¬ Story: 🎁 “The Best Gift for Me, Who Wondered What to Do After Retirement”

By Changryeon Kim / Age 64 / Level 1

I expected the Main Center meditation to be very intensive, systematic, and therefore highly rigorous, but it felt quite a bit more rigorous than I expected. Especially starting Tuesday, a fiercer battle with myself began. Still, thanks to the helper’s refreshing and humorous lectures and the dedicated help of the assistant helpers, I safely gained precious enlightenment, and now I simply just say thank you to everyone.

What suddenly comes to mind is that I acutely, very acutely felt that I lived my life in vain. And I also became very, very thankful that I entered the path of truly living. I have a premonition that every single day will be filled with joy and pleasure. And I think I will show my own change so that the people close to me, such as my family, can also join this meditation. All this time I was so selfish, only knew myself, threw tantrums, got angry…

“Looking back, I lived a life full of nothing but remorse. It’s because I lived exactly according to the picture drawn while trapped in the mind pictures I drew. I provided the cause for all my worries and heartaches, but blamed others. Family, relatives, friends, acquaintances, and coworkersβ€”I did wrong to all of them and made my own heart boil.”

When I think of the person I hated to death and resented, I now think, “Was it like that…” and “They must have had their reasons too.” Can I consider this a brief meditation effect? I feel once again that it is most important that my mind must change first.

“For me, who was wondering what to do after retirement, ‘this meditation’ is the best and most valuable gift of my life, and something I must do as a top priority.”

I express my immeasurable gratitude over and over to the meditation center and helpers who gave me the opportunity to meditate like this.
