📖 Introduction

Do you ever look back on your life and feel overwhelmed by regret, or feel an underlying sense of emptiness despite your best efforts? Many of us walk through life with a sharp temper, insomnia, and a heavy heart, trapped in our own subjective “picture world.” We often feel disconnected from others, viewing them as strangers rather than companions. But what happens when you finally step back, view yourself objectively, and completely empty that false mind?

In this post, two practitioners share how mind subtraction meditation brought profound changes to their personalities and their outlook on life. A 28-year-old shares a deeply moving experience of sincere repentance, shedding tears of gratitude, and finding a dream-like connection with complete strangers. Meanwhile, a 45-year-old reflects on how escaping her false mind world not only cured her insomnia and erased her dark circles, but completely softened her sharp temper and transformed her behavior into something positive and active.

Read their inspiring stories to discover how looking back and emptying your mind can soften your personality, heal your body, and fill your heart with immense gratitude.

💬 Story 1: “I repent from a sincere heart, and I am thankful”

By Seungju Lee / Age 28 / Level 1

Looking back on my life, my heart was so overwhelmed, and I cried a lot and reflected on myself. I realized that I am a very shameful and foolish being. Looking back on myself from the objective standpoint of the world, I realized many things. Seeing myself repenting from a sincere heart and bowing my head, my heart still swells so much, and I am thankful to realize the true mind of being grateful to the method, everyone, and the world.

“It feels like a dream that there is a place where just looking at the faces of people you see for the first time in a place you visit for the first time brings a smile, and where you can exchange sincere glances; it was the happiest week of my life.”

💬 Story 2: “My personality softened, and my behavior changed”

By Jungok Lee / Age 45 / Level 7

Through this meditation, I learned that the place I live in is trapped in the picture world of my mind, my own mind world, and the fact that there is no truth but only falseness in it… I knew I was living in vain and felt empty, but because there is a method to subtract and a method to become true, I was able to trust and meditate. What was better than anything else was the huge charm that I could achieve human completion.

It was a time to ‘properly’ look back on the human being called me through meditation, and it was really refreshing and great that there was a method to discard the remembered thoughts of my lived life. Encountering the method of this meditation was the mooost miraculous thing in my life.

“Now, well over 100 days since I came to the Nonsan Main Center… my face looks younger (dark circles disappeared.. haha), I sleep well (insomnia zero), my sharp temper has softened, and as I look at others not as strangers but as another (entire) ‘me’ of the world, I feel more affection, am always thankful, my behavior has changed…”

Everything has gotten better and is continuously getting better. I am thankful for the method and will live with the universe mind. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you!!
