📖 Introduction

When a sudden crisis triggers deep lethargy, guilt, or depression, it can feel like your entire world is collapsing. Even for those who have always lived with high self-esteem, getting caught in a web of negative emotions can bring daily life to a grinding halt. Often, people turn to psychiatric counseling or cognitive psychological therapy for help. But when professionals simply tell you to “break your negative thought patterns,” it can actually increase your anxiety—how do you break a pattern that you feel has defined your entire life?

In this post, a 31-year-old practitioner shares her profound breakthrough using mind subtraction meditation. After a small incident plunged her into severe depression, guilt, and insomnia that left her waking up at 2 AM plagued by anxiety, traditional therapy didn’t feel like enough to change her entirety. However, by learning how to actively discard her accumulated thoughts, she discovered a method she describes as much healthier and more active than cognitive psychological therapy.

Read her inspiring story to discover how letting go of the false mind can break the cycle of negative thoughts and completely transform a lethargic life into one full of amazing change.

💬 Story 1: “A much healthier and more active method than cognitive psychological therapy”

By Oh Se-rin / Age 31 / Level 1

Last October, when a small incident occurred, lethargy, guilt, and depression began to emerge. Once I was caught in negative emotions, I became so tormented in my mind that I couldn’t go about my daily life. Because I had always lived thinking of myself as very happy with high self-esteem, the sense of loss and emptiness was relatively greater. I would wake up at 2-3 AM and stay up all night plagued by anxiety, guilt, and negative imaginations.

Even though I used to love people so much, I felt intimidated even meeting a close friend. I received psychological therapy and psychiatric counseling, but I felt that my entirety had to change for it to work.

“The counselor and doctor told me to break the negative thought patterns, but the thought that I had lived that way my whole life only grew bigger, increasing my guilt.”

The 2-week Level 1 meditation was an opportunity that allowed me to look back at myself and showed me a clue to change. I think the early Level of this meditation is a method similar to, no, a much healthier and more active method than cognitive psychological therapy.

When I think of the time before I came here 2 weeks ago, spending more than half the day like a lethargic corpse, it is a truly amazing change. Wow!
