📖 Introduction
When we experience deep trauma in our childhood, the emotional wounds don’t simply fade as we grow up. Unresolved pain often morphs into extreme anger, a crippling fear of abandonment, and a profound distrust of others. We project the pain inflicted upon us onto everyone we meet, trapping ourselves in a cycle of isolation. When the mind is entirely dominated by these dark, heavy thoughts, it can lead to a terrifying internal conflict: the desperate urge to escape the pain entirely, clashing with a buried, yet powerful, desire to survive.
In this post, a 25-year-old woman shares an incredibly raw and courageous confession. Carrying the deep trauma and anger from childhood abuse, she found herself completely dominated by her thoughts, pushing away everyone who tried to get close to her.
Read her powerful story to see how facing the darkest parts of the mind and learning to discard them can transform severe trauma into profound gratitude and a genuine will to live.
💬 Story: 🪞 “Seeing My Dirty Mind”
By Yoon So-young / Age 25 / Level 1
While meditating, I saw many of my dirty minds that even I wanted to deceive. I had never truly liked anyone from the bottom of my heart. Hoping someone would approach me, when they actually did, I was guarded and afraid they would leave. I wanted to kill all my family members.
“The anger I swallowed while being beaten by my dad was suddenly directed at all others, and that mind made me want to kill even myself.”
I continued to view other people through the pictures in my mind, thinking that those people would hate me too. I was afraid of and hated the gazes of others. It became increasingly scary to reveal myself. Trapped in these thoughts, I began to not even know what I was thinking, and even felt like I was being dominated by thoughts.
“I wanted to escape from those thoughts. I really wanted to die. But as much as I did, perhaps even more, I wanted to live.”
So, I sought out this meditation. I participated in the ‘New Mind Camp’ aimed at university students and also registered at the local center. During that process, I had never once truly followed the practice properly. I couldn’t focus on subtracting my mind and kept dozing off.
Coming to the center this time, for the very first time I understood what it meant to discard myself, and I followed the meditation method. If I were alone, I would never have been able to reach that point. I felt sincere gratitude towards everyone who helped me.
I feel I still have a long way to go, but I resolved not to stop no matter how long and rugged the road may be.
“I always resented my environment and situation, but now I am actually grateful. If I hadn’t had such a hard time, I would have lived my whole life in the fake world inside my mind, without knowing this meditation.”
I hope everyone who was with me completes all the levels and becomes happy. Thank you.
