A person escaping a severe inferiority complex and unlocking the doors to their heart through mind subtraction at Santa Clara Meditation

πŸ“– Introduction

A severe inferiority complex can be one of the most isolating burdens a person can carry. When we secretly hate our own existence, we often project that pain outward, becoming passive, negative, and constantly blaming the world. Eventually, the exhaustion of constantly clashing with life takes its toll. To protect ourselves from further pain, we do the only thing we feel we can: we lock the doors to our hearts and completely shut down.

In this post, a 34-year-old practitioner shares a deeply moving story of wandering in the dark with a closed heart. Exhausted from failed attempts to fix her personality, she stumbled upon a lifeline while waiting at a literal intersection.

Read her powerful reflection to see how realizing you are trapped in a self-made, lonely mind world is the first step to unlocking true freedom.

πŸ’¬ Story: πŸͺž “Meeting This Meditation While Wandering, Solving Many Questions About Life”

By Heewoon Hwang / Age 34 / Level 7

Since I was young, I had such a severe inferiority complex that I absolutely hated the very fact that I existed in this world. Because I was always passive and negative, I only blamed others and the world, and as a result, I clashed with things here and there, which made me extremely exhausted and miserable.

I made many attempts to fix that kind of personality, but my condition only worsened, and there was nothing I could do with my own strength.

“At a certain point, I ran out of energy, and because I didn’t want to get hurt anymore, I locked the doors to my heart tight and lived indifferently and irresponsibly toward the world.”

When I was lost and wandering in the dark like that, I was waiting at a traffic light at an intersection when I found this meditation. After listening to the seminar explanation, I thought, “This is it.” I thought about it for a day and registered immediately.

Only after meditating did I gradually come to understand why I had lived like that and why it had been so hard. From birth until now, I swallowed countless minds, built my own mind world, and busily wandered around laughing and crying inside it.

“It was my own lonely mind world that didn’t exist, couldn’t be seen, heard, or felt in the real worldβ€”a futile dream that vanishes like foam.”

There were difficult situations while meditating, but the reason I could walk this far wasn’t because I worked hard, but because there was the method of this meditation. It was because there were all the people who did their absolute best to help without expecting anything in return from their respective positions, and the fellow meditators who walked alongside me, helping each other.

Living only knowing myself, I learned how freeing it is to gradually discard that self, how I should treat others, and how living truly is supposed to be.
