Community residents and cancer survivors finding healing and peace through a specialized meditation program

Welcome back to the Santa Clara Meditation blog! ⛵

At the heart of a thriving society is a healthy and happy community. Today, we want to highlight the incredible work being done through community support programs. In cooperation with local public health centers and hospitals, various meditation education programs are being operated to deeply enhance the health, resilience, and happiness of community residents! ✨

🌅 Healing and Hope for Cancer Patients and Survivors

A major focus of these community programs has been supporting those affected by cancer, offering them tools for self-reflection and mental healing.

  • Happy Meditation Hope Program for You Who Overcame Cancer: From November 10 to December 11, 2015, this 10-session program was held for cancer survivors in Songpa-gu. It was jointly organized by the Academic Society for Human Completion, the Songpa-gu Public Health Branch Visiting Health Management Center, and the Department of Preventive Medicine at the Catholic University of Korea.
  • Self-Reflection_Mind Subtraction Meditation for Cancer Patients and Their Families: This vital program was hosted by the Jeonbuk Regional Cancer Center (Jeonbuk National University Hospital) on dates including December 7, 2017, and June 29, 2018.

🌻 Supporting Mental Health and Family Care

Community well-being extends to every stage of life and family dynamics.

🕊️ Educational and Empowering Camps

Beyond healthcare, meditation is being used to empower students and educators in the community.

  • Employment Confidence Mind & Skill UP Camp: Held for 3rd-year Nursing students at Chung-Ang University (December 2019 and February 2020), totaling 14 hours of intensive support.
  • Teacher Job Training: Special lectures for enhancing character education capacity were held for elementary and middle school teachers, such as the session hosted by the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education on August 24, 2019, at the Gyeongju Dream Center.

A Continued Commitment (2020-2023)

The dedication to community support has only grown stronger in recent years. Just a few highlights from the extensive list of recent programs include:
