đź“– Introduction
Have you ever felt weighed down by your own pride, or suddenly realized that the way you’ve been living feels heavy and exhausting? Many of us carry deep-seated pride and stubbornness without even realizing it, making our daily lives feel like a struggle. But what happens when you finally look back at yourself honestly and let go of those burdens?
In this post, two practitioners share their transformative experiences through mind subtraction meditation. A 48-year-old reflects on how letting go of long-held pride allowed her to completely empty her mind, leaving her feeling light enough to fly. Meanwhile, a 69-year-old shares a heartfelt journey of humility, gratitude, and dedication while attending a meditation retreat, encouraging others who are on the same path to inner peace.
Read their inspiring stories to discover how emptying the mind of pride and illusions can lead to profound joy, gratitude, and a completely fresh start.
💬 Story 1: “It’s amazing that my mind is completely emptied”
By Yoon Mi-jung / Age 48 / Level 2
It had been quite a while since I started this meditation, but because I couldn’t let go of my pride, I was living a serious life where daily living was impossible. But this time, while meditating and looking back on myself, I saw so many things that made me wonder if I really lived like this, and I cried a lot thinking I had lived my life in vain. Still, I meditated thinking it’s a relief I met this meditation even now.
I am so happy to move on to the next course. As expected, I felt that the subtraction method of this meditation is great. The more I subtracted, it was amazing to come to know everything about myself, and it’s also amazing to realize the absence of my mind.
“Anyway, right now my mind is completely emptied and I feel like I could fly, so I am so, so happy~~”

💬 Story 2: “I want to congratulate and encourage everyone who graduated together”
By Rock Face / Age 69 / Level 1
Before coming here for this meditation, I practiced for a month at the local meditation center. Since I had practiced for a month locally, I thought about skipping Level 1 at the main center and starting from Level 2, but wanting to learn the basics thoroughly, I decided to start from Level 1, informed the local center, and came to the training center on Saturday. After dinner, the orientation and meditation started at 7:30.
The instructor helper’s good impression and fluent speaking skills captured my heart. I struggled a lot with the tight and packed schedule that started on Sunday, but since it was something I wanted, I was able to engage without difficult suffering. I engaged in the meditation, which continued until late every night, with a joyful heart. The sincere lecture content was excellent, so I could understand it well without much difficulty.
“I am grateful that it can be operated like this at a low cost, and I deeply appreciate the hard work of the helpers who volunteered devotedly.”
Those who participated without much preparation at the recommendation of their families found it difficult. I imagine those who came with a light heart looking for healing and meditation found it hard. I want to encourage those who endured well and completed the course. I thank the instructors and staff who did their best and worked hard. I congratulate those who passed Level 1. Everyone, you really worked hard.
