📖 Introduction

Menopause can be a challenging period when physical discomfort, emotional changes, and persistent anxiety make everyday life feel overwhelming. For some women, depression and worries about the future can become so intense that even simple activities feel exhausting. Finding peace during this difficult transition may seem impossible.

In this heartfelt meditation testimonial, a 53-year-old woman shares her experience of struggling with menopausal depression and severe emotional distress. Although her first experience with meditation was physically and mentally demanding, she gradually began releasing accumulated anger, worries, and anxiety through mind subtraction meditation. Her journey led to a renewed sense of peace, gratitude, and happiness.

💬 Story: 🌷 “Because I Had Menopausal Depression”

By Jeong Min-ja / Age 53 / Level 1

I meditated for the first time. Because it was my first time, I started with a bewildered mind, and since I started in a state where my body and mind were very sick, it was extremely difficult.

Having menopausal depression, I started wondering if I could really sit in one spot for several hours a day, and it was such a hard and grueling time that the thought of wanting to die even crossed my mind.

But as I started subtracting day by day, my suffocating mind cleared up.

“I realized that the things that made me angry and furious, the worries and anxieties about the future, etc., were nothing but vain actions.”

I am grateful to have attained the mind of the world by discarding my entire lived life.

“My mind has become peaceful, my body has become light, and I have become happy.”

I sincerely thank the helper teachers at this meditation.

🌱 NEXT STEPS: Find Emotional Peace During Menopause

Are you experiencing anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or persistent sadness during menopause? This stage of life can be difficult, but finding support and taking time to care for your emotional well-being can make a meaningful difference.

Mind subtraction meditation offers an opportunity to reflect on accumulated thoughts and emotional burdens. As Jeong Min-ja’s experience illustrates, self-reflection can be part of a personal journey toward greater calm, gratitude, and happiness.

Meditation is not a substitute for professional treatment of depression. If you’re experiencing suicidal thoughts, seek immediate support from a qualified professional or crisis service.
