📖 Introduction

Have you ever read a self-help book that promised happiness if you could simply control your emotions, think positively, or let go of negative thoughts? While these ideas sound reasonable, putting them into practice can be surprisingly difficult. Life rarely unfolds according to the rules written in motivational books. Even when we try to suppress anger, overcome sadness, or maintain a positive mindset, unwanted thoughts and emotions often return.

But what if finding lasting peace isn’t about controlling your thoughts, but actually subtracting the accumulated experiences and mental pictures that shape them?

In this thoughtful meditation testimonial, a 33-year-old practitioner shares a different perspective on emotional freedom. After years of interest in meditation, this individual discovered mind subtraction meditation and was drawn to its systematic, logical approach. Rather than simply trying to manage emotions, the practitioner began reflecting on and discarding the mental pictures formed through past experiences. Although the practice sometimes felt challenging, the gradual release of accumulated thoughts brought a noticeable sense of lightness to both mind and body.

Read this personal journey to discover how mind subtraction offers an alternative to conventional self-help advice and opens the possibility of finding inner peace beyond constant emotional control.

💬 Story: 🌿 “Our Lives Don’t Go as Common Self-Help Books Say”

By Joy / Age 33 / Level 1

I had always been interested in meditation, and when I learned the principles of ‘this meditation’, I thought it was more scientific and logical than any other method. So, I started meditating with the mindset of trusting and trying that ‘method’ first.

People have times when their minds are good, hard, happy, or angry. It felt natural that those emotions and minds arise, but sometimes it felt difficult to live happily on happy days and sadly on sad days. Our lives just don’t unfold as common self-help books say, which tell us to control, suppress, and let go of those emotions.

“However, this meditation, namely subtraction meditation, is a method of finding original purity by subtracting all ‘experiences’ up to now and the ‘pictures’ created from one’s own perspective.”

The meditation went well sometimes and was difficult at other times, but as a result of trusting and following it, I feel my mind world, my own mind world full of thoughts, becoming lighter. And I feel my body becoming lighter along with it.

Of course, this will also require a process of continuous meditation and patience, but I want to trust this method to the end and experience the joy of ‘completion’.

“From now on, I want to experience true freedom away from my own world full of thoughts.”

If my family and acquaintances also meditate together, I think our understanding of each other will broaden and we can be happy together. I am grateful for this method.
