πŸ“– Introduction

The constant need to be better than others can drive us to the brink of total exhaustion. Driven by an old, unhealed inferiority complexβ€”perhaps stemming from our school days or early failuresβ€”we develop a rigid compulsion to do everything perfectly. We push ourselves relentlessly at work, battle severe anxiety about the future, and trap ourselves in a fake, highly pressured version of who we are. We live miserably under our own impossible standards. But what happens when you finally stop clinging to the exhausting need to be perfect?

In this post, a 31-year-old man shares how intense work stress and a deep sense of crisis about his future led him to meditation. By steadfastly peeling back the layers of his mind, he uncovered the hidden inferiority complex and perfectionism that had been secretly controlling his life.

Read his powerful story to see how the step-by-step process of mind subtraction can release your deepest obsessions and bring sudden, profound comfort to your life.

πŸ’¬ Story: ✨ “The Subtraction Process and Its Amazing Effects That I Experienced Firsthand”

By Park Gi-hong / Age 31 / Level 1

I participated in Level 1 due to work-related stress from my previous company and a sense of crisis about the future. I came fully determined, but during the course, I felt the urge to quit several times. However, because I was with fellow participants beside me, I was able to push through to the end.

“When subtracting, at first you only focus on the images of the pictures that pop up. But as that work accumulates, the emotions that were with the pictures are pulled out as well. And when that work builds up, there comes a moment when you look directly at the painful and difficult aspects of your past and understand them for what they are.”

Also, as you continue this repetitive work, you realize what you are clinging to so much, and as you repeatedly try to let go of that obsession, it seems everyone has their own experiences depending on their diverse life journeys. However, I think the effect of this work will differ depending on the size of one’s mind that truly wants to discard.

“I discovered that I had a great sense of inferiority for not doing well in studies during my school days, and a compulsion that I couldn’t do anything else unless I finished this. And digging a little deeper, after realizing that I had lived truly miserably because the false me, the fake me, strongly held onto the belief that I must be better than others and that I must do things perfectly, my mind suddenly became very comfortable.”

There is a saying you hear often during this process. Follow instructions steadfastly like a bear, but apply the repetitive content the instructor speaks about into your subtraction by recognizing it in your head. If you do that, I dare to assure you that amazing things will happen to you.
