📖 Introduction
When faced with stress and life’s heavy burdens, our most common coping mechanism is to just hold it in. We suppress our true feelings, grit our teeth, endure the frustration, and wait for a “golden vacation” hoping a few days of rest will magically cure our exhaustion. But often, even the best vacations leave us returning to the exact same heavy mind. What if true rest doesn’t come from physically escaping for a few days, but from permanently discarding the heavy emotional pictures stored in your brain?
In this post, a 42-year-old mother shares her unexpected journey to true peace. Initially hesitant to “waste” her precious vacation time on a meditation camp while her kids were away, she struggled with doubt and sleepiness for the first few days. However, as she stopped simply enduring and actually began to discard her stored mind, she experienced an incredible breakthrough.
Read her inspiring story to see how letting go of your false mind brings a refreshing, profound peace that no ordinary vacation could ever provide.
💬 Story: ✨ “A Mind Completely Without Regrets, I Discarded It So Refreshingly”
By Ahn Gye-hwa / Age 42 / Level 1
Initially sending our kids to the youth camp, my husband and I also came with a light heart to experience what it was like. Up until the day before coming, we constantly weighed the options, wondering, “Should we go or not? Wouldn’t it be a waste to spend our golden vacation like this?” After arriving on Saturday, having dinner, and meditating, I regretted it. I thought, “This is hard. This is hard.” Discard? I doubted what it meant.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday… fighting with sleep day by day. I constantly fought with the mind inside me.
“But amazingly, from Wednesday, my body felt lighter, and I didn’t get sleepy during meditation. As I vaguely realized that by discarding and subtracting myself until it disappears, only the original mind remains, my mind also became refreshed and peaceful, and I came to think that this is what discarding is all about.”
Pictures, the pictures in my mind! Thinking that I wouldn’t regret it at all even if I discarded them, I felt so refreshed and a smile naturally formed on my lips. During the Friday morning meditation, tears flowed from my eyes. I wondered if this unknown feeling was what it’s like for human mind to become the universe mind.
“I realized that the one week I spent realizing that instead of just holding back, suppressing, and enduring, all I had to do was discard, was a truly precious and valuable time.”
Thank you. I am grateful for the method that makes me discard myself.
