📖 Introduction
Many of us reach a point of complete mental and emotional burnout, especially when it comes to human relationships. We bounce from job to job, hoping the next environment will be better, only to find the same conflicts, misunderstandings, and pain waiting for us. When we feel deeply hurt by people, we often conclude that the world is against us. We dream of just sleeping without thinking, or even giving up entirely, believing that everyone else is the problem. But what if the recurring conflicts in our lives aren’t caused by the people around us, but by the self-centered lens through which we view the world?
In this post, a 27-year-old woman shares her profound awakening. Completely exhausted from life and seeking only a quiet place to rest for a week, she pushed past her deep negativity and began to reflect on her past. To her shock, she discovered that the root of her relationship struggles wasn’t the people she blamed, but the selfish, illusory pictures she held in her own mind.
Read her transformative story to see how discarding your self-centered illusions can heal relationship burnout and replace a negative mindset with overwhelming gratitude.
💬 Story: 🛑 “I Came With the Mindset of Just Resting Comfortably for a Week”
By Kim Ga-hee / Age 27 / Level 1
Before coming to the main center, I was exhausted from human relationships, so even if I worked, I would quit soon. Even if I got a new job, I suffered because of people, and even if I did what I liked, it wasn’t enjoyable. I always thought about resting and just sleeping without thinking, but then I would get hurt by people again. Finally, I thought I wanted to die, so I came to the main center with the mindset of just resting comfortably for a week.
Actually, on the first day, I had a lot of doubts about whether this could be discarded in a week, so during the consultation, I asked the helper, “Can I discard it in a week?” The helper told me to have a positive mindset and that I could discard it if I believed I could, which changed my negative mindset to a positive one.
While meditating on Sunday, I couldn’t concentrate at first, perhaps because of my negative mind. But every hour, the helpers kept giving positive words and saying I could do it, so my mind started to change too. At first, discarding itself was very hard, and it was hard to even look at the pictures popping up in my mind, so they didn’t come up well. It took about 4 hours to look back on my lived life once, but I didn’t lose hope and followed what the helpers said, which allowed me to look back on myself, and the time it took to look back also decreased.
As I truly discarded, I began to look back on aspects of myself that I had never known before.
“As a person, I had lived thinking, ‘I am great, I did nothing wrong, I am having a hard time because of that person, that person is the problem.’ But as I looked back, looked back again, and discarded, I couldn’t help but think it was a huge delusion and crazy thinking. The problem wasn’t the person next to me, but myself.”
I closed my ears and eyes to the world, refusing to even listen or look. Based on a scene from my childhood, my mind was formed until now, and I had lived like that.
“I realized what a selfish being I was, caring only about myself, taking pictures however I pleased and viewing the world that way, living entirely centered on myself.”
I truly hated myself so much that I had no choice but to discard and discard again. I am so grateful that it can be discarded, and I am so, so grateful for the method. If it weren’t for this method, I think I would have continued to live self-centeredly, wondering why the world is treating me like that. Through this opportunity, I now have the desire to finish the course to the end.
