📖 Introduction
When anger, resentment, and deep-seated frustration build up inside the heart, they do not just stay as emotional burdens—they manifest physically. Many people struggle with chronic anger illness (known in Korea as hwatbyeong), chest tightness, uncontrollable emotions, and severe insomnia. We carry heavy attachments, especially toward the people we love most, and try to navigate life while trapped in a cycle of stray thoughts and vague anxieties about the future. What happens when you finally learn how to sit down, face your hidden emotions, and physically discard the rage trapped in your chest?
In this post, two practitioners share their powerful breakthroughs. A 49-year-old reflects on four incredible mental shifts after just one week of practice, including gaining the ability to calm resentment and instantly discard stray thoughts. Meanwhile, another practitioner describes a fierce internal battle to let go of deep-seated anger, leading to a miraculous moment where the tightness dissolved, breathing became easy, and a profound connection to the universe was revealed.
Read their inspiring stories to see how emptying the mind can cure physical chest tension and replace lingering rage with true peace.
💬 Story 1: ✨ “4 Good Things After Doing This Meditation for 1 Week”
By Balkkorak / Age 49 / Level 1
· I was able to have conversations with myself. · I was able to have thoughts that could gather and calm my resentment, disappointment, and hateful feelings towards my surroundings. · It was good that I could train my patience for sitting down.
“I tend to think a lot about useless stray thoughts, imaginations, and vague anxieties about the future, but I could slightly feel how to immediately discard the arising thoughts, which helped me build the strength for concentration.”

💬 Story 2: 🌬️ “As My Anger Subsided, Breathing Became Easier”
By Gyuhwamok / Level 2
I had a lot of anger and rage inside my heart. Sometimes it was hard because I couldn’t control my own emotions. I had heard the word about this meditation from people around me who meditate, but I didn’t know the details. Then, a center for this meditation opened in my neighborhood, so I got interested and looked it up on the internet. Because I was struggling due to my mind, reading the testimonial cases made me want to experience it too, so I participated.
Because my body wasn’t well, it was hard to sit for long periods. I usually have insomnia and fall asleep at dawn, so it was also hard due to a lack of sleep. However, I tried to focus and meditate as much as I could. The hardest existence to discard in my mind was my son.
“But after fiercely trying as if fighting inside my chest for more than 5 minutes, my mind towards my son was discarded, and on Tuesday, I experienced a momentarily empty state as if a large hole had opened in my chest. I focused and tried harder.”
Then on Wednesday, the universe mind began to be seen. And on Thursday night, I saw the emotions hidden deep inside my mind, and as I pulled them out, tears flowed uncontrollably. And at the final moment, I felt the universe mind, and after opening my eyes, I felt that everything was the universe and that it was ultimately one with me. It was a feeling of breathing together and existing together. It was also a feeling as if everyone was connected.
It was amazing to discard myself in Level 1 and feel that I am the universe, and we are all the universe. Doing this meditation, my mind became comfortable, and I repented a lot while reflecting on myself. Perhaps that’s why my depressed mood also became much lighter and brighter.
“I especially suffered from hwatbyeong (anger illness), but it was so good that breathing became easier as the anger clumped in my chest subsided. I wonder how the completion of the practice will change me.”
