A person letting go of their hidden mind and discovering true inner peace through mind subtraction at Santa Clara Meditation

πŸ“– Introduction

Many of us spend thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to understand the human mind. We read self-help books, attend seminars, or even pursue degrees in psychology, hoping that intellectual knowledge will finally bring us inner peace. However, simply analyzing the mind rarely changes it. Real transformation requires a practical method to bring our deeply hidden flawsβ€”laziness, pride, and the desire to avoid hard workβ€”to the surface so they can actually be discarded.

In this post, a 51-year-old teacher shares a profound realization. After returning to meditation after a ten-year hiatus, she participated in a physical “farming practice” that brought up tens of thousands of hidden thoughts. By facing and discarding these uncomfortable emotions, she discovered that this practical method of mind subtraction was far more effective than the two years she spent studying counseling psychology in graduate school.

Read her inspiring story to see how stepping out of your head and into action can lead to miraculous inner growth.

πŸ’¬ Story: 🌱 “Through Farming Practice, I Discarded Many Hidden Minds”

By Kim Soon-ok / Age 51 / Level 7

It was truly good when I first encountered this meditation through a teacher job training course over ten years ago. Back then, using my overly busy life as an excuse, I only did Levels 1 and 2 and couldn’t continue, but doing it again these days when I have some room in my life, it is boundlessly good. Whenever I passed each level, confirming myself as my consciousness grew, I was truly joyful and just amazed.

Doing the farming practice that started from Level 4, I had many, many thoughts of this and that. Using the body that I hadn’t moved all this time, tens of thousands of minds arose. Thinking, ‘Would the greatness of this meditation have value if the study to escape myself and find a new me were just easy and simple?’, I discarded and discarded myself.

“No pain, No gain!! The harder my body worked, the boundlessly more peaceful my mind became, and gradually confirming with my mind the greatness of the calming farming practice, I came to feel true inner joy.”

My body made all kinds of noises just because I used it a bit, but looking into the minds arising through farming, I practiced a lot while discarding the minds within me. The me who finds things bothersome, the lazy me, the comparing me, the me who thinks only I am important, the prideful me, the me with a lot of inferiority complex, the show-off me, the me wanting to avoid hard thingsΒ·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β· I found the many versions of me that were hidden, discarded them, discarded them, and eliminated them.

Now, through this meditation coming to the final stage, I am experiencing the miracle of escaping from the narrow, narrow me and changing into a consciousness as big as the universe. A meditation practice of just 16 weeks was an immense gift to me.

“Looking back, I could confirm through my changed inner world now that this is a greater study than the counseling psychology I studied pouring in time and money for 2 years in graduate school to learn about the human inner self and psychology.”

I am grateful for this method, and I truly thank everyone who helped me get this far.
