📖 Introduction

The transition into our early twenties is often portrayed as the best time of our lives, yet for many, it is quietly filled with intense pressure, skepticism, and a lingering sense of exhaustion. We create so many versions of ourselves to fit into society, only to end up feeling depressed and completely disconnected from who we really are. But what if the “you” that is suffering isn’t actually real? What if all your worries and doubts are just illusions trapped in a fake mind world?

In this post, two young adults share their eye-opening breakthroughs. One is a 21-year-old who pushed past his initial skepticism to find profound joy, and the other is a 20-year-old who finally discovered the root cause of her chronic exhaustion and depression.

Read their stories to see how realizing the falsehood of the mind can instantly set you free.

💬 Story 1: 🕺 “Did I Come Here for Nothing? I Thought, But Now I Am Enjoying This Meditation”

By Kim Jun-woo / Age 21 / Level 1

When I first came and listened to the lecture, I couldn’t understand it at all and couldn’t focus either. It felt like they were saying strange things, and my doubts grew. After listening to the lecture, practicing, and having personal consultations and personal practice, my chest strangely kept feeling suffocated.

For the first day or two, my thoughts were ‘Does this really work?, Is it working?, Did I come for nothing?’

“But the guide teacher explained things so well and taught me so well that I thought ‘Let’s trust it,’ and things were gradually getting better and working out.”

It’s gotten a lot better than when I first arrived, but I feel I need to do more. It is still working well now. Even the lectures—the first time, second time, third time, fourth time—every time I listen, what I hear changes. I kept dancing too, and going up to the front to dance made it fun. I just came to enjoy it. I am also enjoying this meditation while doing it. I feel that I am getting much better.

If I continue, I think I will be able to feel gratitude. I should work even harder. I learned that if I diligently discard myself, I come to know things one by one. After subtracting my mind, I realized that I am false, and I became enlightened thinking, ‘I am really fake; I really lived by what my mind took pictures of.’ It is really hitting home that once I discard myself, I am the universe. I feel gratitude.

💬 Story 2: 🌌 “I Learned the Reason I Was So Tormented, Exhausted, and Depressed”

By Jang Mi-rim / Age 20 / Level 1

Seeing the things, thoughts, and stories I went through—which I didn’t realize before—pop up, I was able to look back at myself thinking, ‘Ah, I was like this.’ I learned that the reason I was so tormented, the reason I was always exhausted, tired, and depressed, was because I lived in the fake world of my mind that I created.

“I realized that the ‘me’ I think of is not the real ‘me’, but the ‘me’ that my mind created, such as this version of me or that version of me. That the original me is the universe.”

I learned that there is no need to be tormented by fake things, no need to suffer, and no need to always worry. However, I realized there are more things to discard, and I became determined to truly discard myself, to discard even more.
