πŸ“– Introduction

When life becomes overwhelmingly difficult, our instincts usually tell us to do one of two things: shut down in skepticism, or physically run away. When businesses fail and tragedy strikes, we often doubt that anything can truly help. On the other hand, when a deep sense of dissatisfaction haunts us, we might travel to new cities or countries, desperately hoping to leave our heavy minds behind. But no matter how far you run, your mind always comes with you.

In this post, two individuals share what happened when they finally stopped running. One reluctantly tried mind subtraction after hitting rock bottom with a failing business and personal grief, while the other finally found the elusive “answer to life” after years of escaping overseas to fill a deep inferiority complex.

Read their honest stories to see how true freedom is found not by running away, but by looking within.

πŸ’¬ Story 1: πŸ›‘ “I Thought ‘How Would This Help?’ But I Am Very Thankful”

By Sunyoung Kim / Age 34 / Level 1

My uncle had been recommending this for a few years, but… since I was always busy just working, not knowing what life was about, his words didn’t reach my ears. When my father passed away and my business wasn’t going as well as I hoped, I was having a very hard time. My uncle suggested it again, but even then, I didn’t easily make up my mind, thinking, ‘Ah~ how would this help?’

Eventually, my uncle even registered for me and told me I had to go, so I reluctantly stepped in. Now, I am very thankful to my uncle.

“Since it’s still the early stages, I don’t know many things, but right now I am thankful that I can empty my mind. Through this opportunity, I looked into my mind for the first time.”

I will try to discard myself even more in future meditations. Thank you to the helper and assistant helper.

πŸ’¬ Story 2: 🌍 “I Found the Answer to Life in This Meditation”

By Hyegeun Song / Age 32 / Level 8

My life, which I had lived entirely centered on myself, was bound to always be dissatisfying. In order to find a great freedom that I neither knew nor had ever experienced, I constantly ran away without even knowing whyβ€”traveling further away to places far from my people, going on training trips, and even working overseas. While continuing that meaningless life, I sought this meditation simply for healing purposes to relieve the stress I got from working, and I found the answer to life there.

Even though it was a method of this meditation that anyone could understand and follow, I, who had lived so stubbornly and closed-off, couldn’t even believe that, so I continued this meditation longer and with more difficulty than others. However, despite being like that, as that ‘me’ was discarded and disappeared, I gradually changed into a comfortable state, becoming one with the original world.

“Now, it’s okay if I don’t make money, study, or meet successful people to fill my inferiority complex, and it’s okay if I don’t endlessly run away overseas to find great freedom.”

I am endlessly grateful for this much peace and stability that has been allowed to me as well.
