A person letting go of the exhausting trap of trying to be perfect and finding true peace through mind subtraction

πŸ“– Introduction

Living a life where we constantly judge others while pretending to have it all together is incredibly exhausting. We strive to appear elegant, knowledgeable, and flawless, carefully managing our image so no one sees our true insecurities. But beneath that polished surface, we often find ourselves trapped in a mental prison of our own makingβ€”unintentionally making life miserable for ourselves and the people around us.

In this post, an honest practitioner shares a raw confession about the heavy burden of perfectionism and pride. Through the process of mind subtraction, she realized how her habit of pretending to be smart and holy was actually the very thing ruining her life.

Read her powerful story to see what happens when you finally drop the act, stop judging, and let go of the fake self.

πŸ’¬ Story: πŸͺž “Pretending to Be Elegant and Knowledgeable, I Really Made Things Hard for Those Around Me”

By Green Love (Choroksarang) / Age 47 / Level 3

I felt that meditating was quite difficult. Every time I sat in the meditation room, I thought this was not an easy task. Neither for my body nor my mind. However, at a certain point, as I followed the method with an earnest mind, it began to feel a bit easier and more comfortable.

I realized that the mindset and habit of not doing anything carelessly in my life so far was also playing out when I was doing this meditation. I just completely surrendered, looked back on my life, reflected, and repented. There wasn’t a single thing I had lived doing properly. I realized that everything that happened in the world was actually my mind world.

“I realize that this ‘me’, who judged from the moment I opened my eyes, compared, and lived judging the world this way and that by my own standards while pretending to know and pretending to be smart, ultimately prevented me from living even my own life as it was originally given, trapping me in the hell of my mind.”

I mean that I created the hell. I realized I really made things hard for the people around me by pretending to be elegant, knowledgeable, holy, and all sorts of things.

Ultimately, I realized that the entire process is about denying and negating this fake, hypocritical self, and discarding all these mindsβ€”that this is everything. I am truly ashamed. I will continue this study to the final level in order to discard all these minds.
