📖 Introduction

We all carry invisible burdens. For some, it is a deep emotional pain or sharp nerves that react to the smallest triggers. For others, it is the exhausting pressure to always appear as a “kind and good person” while hiding feelings of jealousy or frustration inside.

In this post, three individuals of different ages share their honest experiences of confronting these inner struggles. Through the method of mind subtraction, they discovered that when you actively discard past memories and suppressed emotions, the anger and stress naturally disappear.

Read their stories to see how letting go of the heavy mind can lead to unexpected gratitude, relief, and true inner peace.

💬 Story 1: “Suddenly, Tears Flow and I Feel Grateful”

By Yang Jung-sook / Age 78 / Level 1

I felt burdened when coming to this meditation, and once I arrived, it was difficult at first and I even regretted it. But as I kept doing the subtraction, at some point without my realizing it, the pain in my heart grew smaller and now I am at peace.

I feel the harmony of the divine in my heart, and thinking that this meditation teaches the true mind, tears suddenly flow and I feel grateful.

“I thank the teacher who guided me to this meditation and I want to go all the way to the end as much as I can to learn.”

💬 Story 2: “Amazingly, I Don’t Get Angry After Discarding”

By Jung Ji-soo / Level 1

Before coming to this meditation, my nerves were sharp and sensitive, so I had a lot of stray thoughts and stress even over trivial things. But after scanning through my life and continuing to discard, my mind is not easily agitated now.

Amazingly, I don’t get angry, and even when I think about the past, I don’t feel any emotion.

💬 Story 3: “I Realized I Had Been Packaging Myself as a Kind and Good Person”

By Seo Min-ji / Age 24 / Level 1

The biggest change after meditating is that the anger, irritation, and worry I had always harbored in my heart disappeared. Whenever I got angry or emotionally hurt, I would dwell on it for a long time, unable to control my anger and sadness each time. However, while meditating, as I repeatedly brought out those memories and discarded the mind, before I knew it, even if a memory suddenly came up, I could pass it by calmly without any emotion (like anger or sadness).

Also, I often hear from people around me that I am kind, and I too thought that I was kinder and more considerate than others.

However, I realized that I had been packaging myself because I wanted people around me to continue seeing me as a kind and good person, and to hide the ugly emotions I felt, such as jealousy, hatred, and envy.

“After getting rid of the mass of mind that I had wanted to discard so much throughout my life but suppressed and endured because I didn’t know how, in just a short period of one week, my own self feels fascinating and unfamiliar.”

Now I have the conviction that I can live my life differently than before. I am also so grateful to my mom for sending me to this meditation along with my younger sibling.
