Meditation testimonial about happiness gratitude aging and letting go of resentment through Master Woo Myung meditation method at Santa Clara Meditation

📖 INTRODUCTION

As people grow older, many begin reflecting on the meaning of life, happiness, relationships, and what truly matters.

Some carry regrets.

Some carry resentment.

Others quietly worry about aging, illness, loneliness, and death.

But what if genuine happiness could be discovered at any age?

What if old age could become one of the most peaceful and joyful stages of life?

This meditation testimonial shares a heartfelt conversation between Joon-ok Park (88) and Dong-soon Bae (72), two women who spent decades searching for truth and meaning.

Through the meditation method taught by Master Woo Myung, they learned how to let go of resentment, inferiority, expectations, and fear.

Today, both describe themselves as genuinely happy.

Their story beautifully illustrates how letting go of the mind can bring peace, gratitude, freedom, and happiness—regardless of age.

💬 MEDITATION TESTIMONIAL: “WHAT LIFE IS, WHAT HAPPINESS IS… I’M JUST GRATEFUL I REALIZED IT EVEN NOW”

By Joon-ok Park (88) & Dong-soon Bae (72)

🌸 “WHEN YOU LET GO OF EXPECTATIONS, THERE’S NOTHING LEFT TO FEEL BITTER ABOUT”

Joon-ok Park

Time passes so quickly.

I don’t even know when I became this old.

I simply lived my life, and suddenly I found myself here. (laughs)

My legs hurt sometimes.

But I tell them:

“You can hurt all you want—I’m still going.”

I continue practicing meditation, spending time with others, and enjoying life.

That brings me tremendous joy.

One of the biggest changes came in my relationship with my children.

I used to feel hurt whenever they didn’t do enough for me.

But through meditation, I realized:

“Why should I feel disappointed?”

Everyone has their own life and their own path.

Once I let go of expectations, there was nothing left to feel hurt about.

Strangely enough, after I let go, my children began treating me even better.

🌿 “LIFE WAS SO DIFFICULT THAT I NATURALLY BEGAN SEARCHING FOR TRUTH”

Dong-soon Bae

Before discovering meditation, I practiced many spiritual disciplines.

I sincerely wanted my children to live better lives.

But one day, my daughter accidentally broke a dish.

Instead of asking whether she was hurt, I immediately became angry.

That moment shocked me.

I thought:

“After all these years of practice, why am I still reacting this way?”

I realized something needed to change.

Joon-ok Park

For me, the deepest burden was resentment toward my husband.

Outwardly, I appeared polite and obedient.

But inside, I carried tremendous anger and disappointment.

For decades, I silently endured those feelings.

Eventually, I knew I had to resolve them somehow.

That was when I encountered meditation.

When I finally let go of that resentment, the feeling of freedom was indescribable.

✨ “THE ANSWER WAS ALREADY INSIDE ME”

Dong-soon Bae

The moment I first heard about this meditation, I immediately felt:

“This is it.”

What impressed me most was the idea of completely removing the unconscious mind.

I realized I had been carrying countless hidden emotions for decades.

And as long as those emotions remained inside me, they would continue appearing whenever life triggered them.

That was why I continued practicing.

Joon-ok Park

I never received much formal education.

When I first arrived at the meditation center, I asked:

“Can someone like me really do this?”

The answer was simple:

“The answer already exists within you.”

That touched my heart deeply.

I simply followed the instructions and practiced sincerely.

As I continued letting go of resentment, pain, and emotional burdens, incredible realizations naturally appeared.

🪞 “INFERIORITY CONTROLLED MY ENTIRE LIFE”

Dong-soon Bae

One of the greatest discoveries I made was how much inferiority I carried.

I felt inferior because of my lack of education.

I constantly wanted recognition.

I wanted others to acknowledge me.

At the same time, I often became distant and cold toward people.

Eventually, I realized:

“My inferiority controlled my entire life.”

When I finally saw that clearly, I began letting it go.

Joon-ok Park

The same was true for me.

My resentment toward my husband was ultimately my own mind.

Once I realized that, gratitude naturally replaced resentment.

Instead of feeling burdened, I felt thankful that he had remained beside me throughout life.

Everything became lighter and easier.

🌅 “ONCE YOU KNOW WHERE YOU GO AFTER DEATH, FEAR DISAPPEARS”

Joon-ok Park

Many of my friends have already passed away.

Sometimes I feel sad knowing they left without understanding where they were going.

When people tell me they fear death, I often say:

“Life and death belong to Heaven, so don’t worry.”

Honestly, I no longer fear death.

Dong-soon Bae

Through meditation, I experienced a profound realization.

At one moment, I felt completely connected to the fundamental source of existence.

And I understood:

“This is where I came from.”

“This is where I return.”

After that realization, both the fear of death and the fear of life disappeared.

I felt liberated.

😊 “OLD AGE DEPENDS ENTIRELY ON THE MIND”

Joon-ok Park

Everyone grows old.

But how we experience old age depends entirely on our mind.

I may be eighty-eight years old.

I may not possess anything particularly special.

But I am genuinely happy.

One friend once told me:

“You’re the first elderly person I’ve met who says getting old is wonderful.”

Honestly, what is there to worry about anymore?

I eat well.

I walk well.

I live well.

What is there to fear?

Dong-soon Bae

Exactly.

Young people today have incredible opportunities.

I hope they learn about the mind early, work sincerely, and build meaningful lives.

Because happiness does not come automatically from money, success, or status.

True happiness appears when the mind lets go of everything unnecessary and becomes free.

💖 “I’M JUST GRATEFUL I REALIZED IT EVEN NOW”

Today, both women share the same feeling.

Gratitude.

Gratitude for life.

Gratitude for people.

Gratitude for discovering happiness.

Gratitude for learning how to let go.

They say that even now, when they wake up during the night, a simple phrase naturally arises:

“Thank you.”

And perhaps that simple expression captures the greatest lesson they learned:

True happiness does not come from possessing more.

It comes from letting go of what weighs the mind down and living with gratitude, freedom, and peace.
