π Introduction
When things go wrong in life, what is your first reaction? For many of us, it is human nature to look around and point fingers. We convince ourselves that our thoughts are right and that the worldβor the people around usβare wrong. But living with this mindset only builds walls of resentment, friction, and a deep sense of frustration when the world refuses to go our way.
In this post, two individuals in their 50s share their profound moments of self-reflection. They both lived their lives believing they were doing their best, only to realize that their intense resentment and habit of blaming others came directly from their own self-centered minds.
Read how simply discarding this stubborn “fake mind” allowed them to stop fighting the world and finally find true joy and direction.
π¬ Story 1: “If something went wrong, it was always someone else’s fault; I thought my thoughts were always right”
By Seo Jeong-seop / Age 56 / Level 2
Living my life until now, whenever something happened, especially when something went wrong, I always looked around and blamed others. Because I thought I was always right and the surroundings and others were wrong.
Now, while practicing, I looked back at the life I had lived so far. At first, as expected, I only saw the faults of others, and resentment rose up. Yet, as I continued to examine my life and talked about my emotions at the time, I realized that I wasn’t right, and what I thought was right was just self-centered thinkingβthoughts solely in my own mind.
“I realized that the resentment was just a thought in my own mind that couldn’t be found in other people’s minds or anywhere else in the world.”
With that, the mind that blamed others vanished in an instant, and I learned the fact that I was actually the cause of everything.
I had lived trying to move the world my way and according to my intentions, but the world didn’t flow like that. So the more that happened, the more I blamed others. But I learned that the world doesn’t flow my way. The world simply flows according to the flow of the world. The flow of the world proceeds with the mind of the universe. When I subtract and discard my mind and look at the world with the mind of the universe, the whole world approaches with a bright smile.

π¬ Story 2: “Discard, emptyβa method that can actually be done so easily”
By Anonymous / Age 58 / Level 1
While doing this meditation:
- I was able to look back on my own life. I thought I had lived quite diligently, but the 58 years of my life had flowed by pointlessly in depth. I realized that the resentment and criticism were all caused by me.
- I had heard countless times that the fake mind could truly be discarded. The fact that the commands “discard, empty” could actually be done as a method by easily empathizing was so mysterious and even marvelous, and it made me excited.
- I realize that the world inside my mind is fake, and the mind of the universe that I meet after emptying that mind makes me feel joy.
“The fact that the commands ‘discard, empty’ could actually be done as a method by easily empathizing was so mysterious and even marvelous, and it made me excited.”
I am grateful for this opportunity and this method regarding what kind of life I should live from now on, and I intend to see this mind study through to the end.
