If you die completely, you do not gain anything or know anything. Your mind becomes the mind of the emptiness itself, where everything has ceased—the mind that has become one with the world. Salvation is becoming true by discarding one’s self. When one’s self and the world have completely died, the original foundation remains. Being reborn as the Soul and Spirit of the original foundation is salvation. It is not possible to be resurrected or reborn while one still has a self. Only when one’s false self has been completely eliminated can he be reborn and live.
