📖 Introduction

Many people spend their lives feeling like they are constantly lacking something. You might read psychology books, change your career, or seek out spiritual guidance, only to find yourself still trapped in a victim mentality or struggling with low self-esteem. This internal struggle can easily spill over into our homes, creating distance and conflict with the people we love most.

In this post, two individuals share their honest journeys of overcoming these emotional hurdles. One struggled with a lifelong feeling of unhappiness and low self-worth, while the other faced a heartbreaking disconnection from a teenage child.

Read their stories to discover how letting go of the burdensome mind can naturally restore your true self-esteem and bring warmth back to your family.

💬 Story 1: “As the days go by, my mind becomes more comfortable, and my self-esteem increases”

By Anonymous / Level 1

I always thought I was not happy. I lived always craving something and thinking I lacked something. Bound to the past and criticizing reality, I lived merely wishing to become happy. Then, I began to get curious about my mind. So I read psychology books and consulted people around me, only to discover myself living with low self-esteem, surrounded by a victim mentality, and tightly wrapped in pride.

Over the age of thirty, I went to college to study and tried religious life to fill my mind. However, I was not happy. My self-esteem didn’t grow either. Eventually, feeling skeptical about life, I experienced an identity crisis and reached a state where I didn’t even want to work, usually only thinking that I wanted to rest.

Then, at my boss’s recommendation, I came to this meditation. I came with the intention of resting, but at first, my only thought was wanting to run away. Then I thought, “Let’s just try it for a week,” and made it to this point.

During the mind subtraction, I learned about emotions in my mind that I hadn’t realized before, and I was amazed to see my mind becoming more comfortable as the days went by.

“Then yesterday, for the first time, by letting go of everything I had, I felt like I somewhat understood what the mind of the universe is. By doing this meditation this time, I realized that nothing is truly gained easily.”

It was an opportunity to increase my self-esteem and once again realize the meaning of living and sharing together. If I have the chance, I want to study up to Level 7. Thank you to the teachers and fellow meditators who shared the joys and sorrows and helped me along the way.

💬 Story 2: “I started talking again with my child who used to only look at their phone”

By Park Hye-jeong / Age 47 / Level 7

I am a working mother of two children. When the kids were young, my mother raised them, so I had no trouble working in society and enjoyed hobbies like Gi gymnastics and meditation. Then, a problem arose when my first child hit puberty. The child cut off communication with my husband and me, stayed up late on the phone without sleeping, and naturally, problems arose at school as well.

So I decided to find a solution. I searched the internet, confirmed that there was this meditation nearby, visited, and registered right away. After attending for a few days, I found myself experiencing less stress at work. I also felt my mind becoming much more relaxed when looking at my child.

I went to the meditation center whenever I had time, and the moment I received confirmation for Level 1, I was truly surprised. I learned a truth that I had never known while doing other meditations. I had only discarded my mind, yet I reached an enlightenment.

“While continuously looking back at myself during practice, I realized that all the faults were mine, and I felt grateful for the method of this meditation.”

Because if I hadn’t encountered this meditation, I would have learned a truth I would have never known in my life. Another thing I am grateful for is that I started talking with my child again, and my husband softened a lot too. I am always grateful for the method of this meditation and want to recommend it to many people.
