📖 Introduction
When we experience deep emotional wounds or overwhelming stress from our daily lives, it rarely just affects us internally. Often, the pain spills over into our physical health, causing symptoms like chest pain, and strains our most precious relationships with family members or spouses. We often seek comfort, consolation, or counseling, hoping someone can just patch up the hurt. But what if the truest form of healing comes from completely emptying the mind that holds onto those painful memories?
In this post, two practitioners share how mind subtraction meditation helped them heal their deepest wounds and restore their relationships. A 32-year-old shares how discarding her accumulated social stress not only alleviated her physical chest pain but also naturally improved her relationship with her mother. Meanwhile, a 43-year-old on the brink of couples counseling discovered that looking back and emptying his mind brought a profound mental stability, allowing him to let go of a massive emotional wound and feel like a completely new person.
Read their inspiring stories to discover how emptying the mind can bring true healing to your heart, your body, and your relationships.
💬 Story 1: “My mind healed, and my relationship with mom improved”
By Choi Seon-mi / Age 32 / Level 2
Last year, due to sick leave, I was looking for a place to treat my mind. I found out about a place called this meditation near my house. Visiting the Cheonan Dujeong Center with a ‘just in case’ mind and consulting with the guide, I felt a sincerity that I couldn’t feel in consultations anywhere else, so I started meditating at the local center.
Due to the stress accumulated from social life, I felt chest pain and tried various hospital treatments, but they were ineffective.
“Through Level 1 of this meditation, my chest pain alleviated, and as I looked back on myself, my relationship with my mom improved.”
Feeling fulfilled seeing myself changing little by little without realizing it, I am so grateful for the method that can change me.

💬 Story 2: “Becoming a new me”
By Lee Jong-min / Age 43 / Level 1
My relationship with my spouse became so bad that I was looking into couples counseling, and I accidentally found out about this and started meditating. I expected to receive comfort or consolation for my mind, but unexpectedly, doing the mind subtraction became an opportunity to look back on the past years. The situations back then became a bit understandable, and I also had the thought that it happened because I was lacking.
As the emotions from back then came right up, sometimes it was joyful and sometimes my heart ached. Doing repetitive subtraction, my mind became comfortable, and I seemed to find mental stability. Sometimes emotions of the mind come up, but it was good that I could quickly calm them down using the method.
“Rather than comfort, consolation, or some degree of treatment for the mind, my mind became lighthearted as if I was becoming a clean, new me by emptying the mind cleanly.”
I suffered a big wound to my heart, so the emotions and minds from that time arose and it was hard. But I heard there is a Level 2 that pulls out the root of the mind, so I applied for Level 2 to try pulling out the root of the mind. I am thankful because it seems to have been of so much help at the point when I received the biggest wound in my life.
