📖 INTRODUCTION
Many people spend years searching for happiness, peace, and truth.
Some read books, attend lectures, or study spiritual teachings, hoping to find answers that will bring greater meaning to life. Yet even when we understand wisdom intellectually, it can be difficult to actually live according to it.
This meditation testimonial shares the story of AH C., a homemaker who spent much of her life carrying the weight of responsibility for her family. While supporting her husband’s artistic career, caring for her son, helping her parents, and managing financial burdens, she gradually accumulated resentment, exhaustion, and emotional pain.
Although she often spoke about truth and spirituality, she felt frustrated because those ideals remained concepts rather than lived reality.
Through Master Woo Myung’s meditation method, she began reflecting deeply on her life and letting go of the burdens she had carried for decades. As resentment disappeared, gratitude emerged. As self-centered perspectives dissolved, understanding and respect grew. The happiness she once understood only in theory gradually became part of her everyday life.
This meditation testimonial beautifully illustrates how inner transformation can change relationships, perspective, and the way we experience life itself.
💬 MEDITATION TESTIMONIAL: “HAPPINESS ONCE UNDERSTOOD ONLY IN THEORY BECAME REAL LIFE”
By AH C. | Homemaker
I first encountered this meditation through a small introductory booklet.
One sentence printed on the cover immediately captured my attention:
“If you subtract and empty the mind, you become the universe and truth.”
The words felt beautiful and strangely hopeful.
I thought to myself:
“If this were really possible… if I could truly empty my mind like this… how wonderful would that be?”
I became so fascinated that I read the booklet repeatedly in a single sitting.
🎨 CARRYING THE BURDEN OF LIFE ALONE
My husband is a painter.
We first met through an art club. Before marriage, I also loved art deeply. However, after we married, I believed it would be difficult for both of us to survive financially as artists.
Because I felt my husband possessed greater artistic talent, I decided to give up my own dream and focus on supporting our family.
Over the years, I worked many different jobs.
For thirteen years, I operated a children’s bookstore.
During that time, I hardly ever rested.
Even while sitting inside the bookstore, I often felt trapped.
When I delivered books from house to house, carrying heavy boxes, my legs would shake from exhaustion.
Meanwhile, my husband spent his time painting beautiful landscapes and meeting people freely.
Although I sincerely wanted to support his dream, resentment repeatedly surfaced inside me.
I disliked the contradiction within myself.
Part of me wanted to support him.
Another part felt burdened and unfairly treated.
🌱 THE THORN-LIKE MIND I CARRIED
In addition to supporting my family financially, I carried many other responsibilities.
- The pressure of being the eldest daughter-in-law
- Financial concern for my struggling parents
- The belief that I alone must oversee my son’s education
As these burdens accumulated, my physical health gradually declined as well.
Watching myself grow weaker while continuously sacrificing for my family, I often wished I could escape my life altogether.
Then I began practicing meditation.
For nearly six months, I attended every day without missing a session.
The first realization that surprised me was very simple:
“For the first time in my life, I was making time for myself.”
Because I had always lived under pressure to earn money and care for others, I had never truly allowed myself to rest.
Meditation finally gave me that opportunity.
Those moments became precious beyond words.
💡 REALIZING HOW SELF-CENTERED I HAD BEEN
As I reflected on my life through meditation, I became shocked by what I saw.
One thought kept appearing repeatedly:
“I really lived so wrongly.”
Even the people I believed I loved and respected most deeply, I realized I had never fully understood.
I had viewed everyone through my own perspective.
Because I was trapped within my own thoughts and judgments, true understanding had never been possible.
This realization humbled me greatly.
❤️ LETTING GO OF RESENTMENT TOWARD MY HUSBAND
The person I felt most sorry toward was my husband.
Looking back, I realized I had always approached him carrying hidden thorns inside my heart.
I constantly held thoughts such as:
- “I supported him financially.”
- “I sacrificed for him.”
- “I suffered more than he did.”
For decades, I carried resentment connected to:
- Financial pressure
- Feelings of unfairness
- The belief that my husband enjoyed more freedom than I did
Through meditation, I gradually let go of those thoughts.
And as those minds disappeared, the way I saw my husband completely changed.
Previously, I viewed him as:
- Incompetent
- Burdensome
- Responsible for my hardships
Now I see something entirely different.
I see a man who faithfully walked his artistic path for more than thirty years.
I see someone who quietly fulfilled his responsibilities in his own way.
The resentment disappeared.
In its place came genuine respect.
☀️ A RELATIONSHIP THAT FINALLY BECAME COMFORTABLE
Today, my husband and I practice this meditation together.
As we continue letting go of our own fixed ideas and stubborn perspectives, our relationship has become far more peaceful and natural.
Conversation flows comfortably.
We understand each other better.
One of the greatest lessons I have learned is this:
People suffer tremendously because they cling to things that have already passed and no longer exist.
The more I meditate, the more deeply I realize:
“Letting go of the mind is truly important.”
🌸 WHEN HAPPINESS BECOMES REAL LIFE
Even before discovering meditation, I had always been interested in truth and spirituality.
I often spoke about wisdom and truth intellectually.
But deep inside, I suffered because I knew I was not actually living according to those ideals.
After beginning meditation, something remarkable happened.
The truths I once understood only through words gradually began expressing themselves naturally through my actions and daily life.
Seeing that transformation gave me confidence.
“This truly is a practice that works.”
For example, I always knew I should treat my husband warmly.
Yet despite knowing that, I could never genuinely do it.
After emptying my mind, warmth and kindness began appearing naturally without effort.
And that brings me tremendous happiness.
🌿 “I FEEL LIKE A WHOLE NEW WORLD HAS OPENED”
These days, people often tell me:
“You seem peaceful.”
Even simple words such as:
“Thank you.”
“I’m grateful.”
which I once spoke automatically, now arise sincerely from my heart.
Because I live each day with gratitude, I no longer feel poor or lacking, even though I do not possess great material wealth.
Instead, I feel:
“As though I already have everything.”
Life now feels completely different.
It feels as though an entirely new world has opened before me.
And for that, I am deeply grateful.
🌟 Conclusion
This meditation testimonial demonstrates how genuine change begins within.
By letting go of resentment, self-centered perspectives, and decades of accumulated emotional burdens, AH C. transformed not only her relationship with her husband but also her experience of life itself.
What was once understood merely as a beautiful idea became reality.
Through Master Woo Myung’s meditation method, gratitude replaced resentment, understanding replaced judgment, and happiness became something she could finally experience every day.
