πŸ“– Introduction

Life can often feel overwhelming. Whether it is the weight of endless, complicated thoughts that refuse to stop, or the quiet struggles of parenting and family conflicts, these daily burdens can leave us feeling exhausted and disconnected.

In this post, we share two short, real-life stories from individuals who found their way out of these everyday struggles. Through the simple method of discarding the mind, they discovered how letting go can bring quietness to an overactive mind and restore harmony in the family.

Read their experiences to see how cutting off the source of stress can completely change your daily life.

πŸ’¬ Story 1: “The Agonies and Questions That Constantly Tormented Me Were Cut Off”

By Yuna / Age 31 / Level 1

At some point, my mind became so complicated that I couldn’t focus on anything. I couldn’t do my job well, and no matter how hard I tried to pay attention, I couldn’t listen to my friends or family, nor could I rest fully. I was always unconsciously plagued by endless thoughts, constantly trying to fill myself with something.

So, I lived without a moment’s rest. I exercised, studied, constantly sought out new hobbies, met people, traveled regularly, read books, and tried to master various ways of controlling my mind. But that was only temporary; in the end, all that remained was emptiness. Along with immense frustration, I fell into a dilemma of how I should live my lifeβ€”a problem that seemed unsolvable. I couldn’t even trust my own words, thoughts, and resolutions.

In the midst of this, at my mother’s recommendation, I started meditating at a local center. I couldn’t dedicate much time, but during that short period of meditation, my mind not only became empty and at peace, but I also felt that the things that hadn’t been solved or understood through various self-help or religious books were finally resolved.

However, I realized that as long as I held onto the things I had been gripping and suffering over throughout my life, it would be difficult to let everything go. So, I decided to boldly let go of everything and finish this study. But letting go of my home, money, job, friends, and lover was much harder than I expected. When it came time to actually let go, I felt regretful, worried, and afraid first. However, because I couldn’t continue living a life where I couldn’t work, couldn’t rest, and doubted my own words and thoughts, I started meditating again from Level 1 at the Main Center with a desperate feeling that this was my last resort.

During the first meditation session, I was half-expectant and half-worried and afraid. Meditating for a long time was physically demanding, and the mental energy consumption was significant. At some point, I spaced out and couldn’t think of anything. But I quickly gathered myself, and although I wasn’t great at it, I tried my best.

When I looked back on the life I had lived about 10 times, I suddenly realized that the meditation wasn’t something ‘I’ was doing, and from then on, I was able to relax and meditate. Since I had a lot of worries and anxieties in my life, I had a lot of pictures, so it took a lot of time and energy to look back on my lived life. However, I was surprised myself that I didn’t feel tired even after cutting my sleep in half.

“At this point, having finished the Level 1 meditation for a week, I feel that the agonies and questions that constantly tormented me have largely been cut off.”

I am not yet at the stage where my thoughts are naturally cut off without my awareness, but because I know how to pause briefly and discard my thoughts, I am not afraid because I can quickly escape even if I fall into delusional thoughts. I have a long way to go, but as the guide said, “Well begun is half done,” I will gather my strength and finish my studies according to the natural flow, without being greedy.

πŸ’¬ Story 2: “I Started Conversing Again with My Child Who Only Stared at the Phone”

By Park Hye-jung / Age 47 / Level 7

I am a working mother of two children. When the kids were young, my mother raised them, so I lived without much difficulty, working and enjoying hobbies like Gi gymnastics and meditation.

Then, a problem arose when my first child hit puberty. My child cut off communication with my husband and me, stayed up late at night playing on the phone instead of sleeping, and naturally, problems arose in their school life as well.

So, I decided to find a solution. I searched the internet, confirmed there was a center for this meditation nearby, visited, and registered right away. After attending for a few days, I found myself getting less stressed at work. I also felt that my mind toward my child became much more relaxed.

I went to the meditation center whenever I had time, and the moment I passed the Level 1 confirmation, I was truly surprised. I had learned a truth I hadn’t known at all while doing other meditations. I simply discarded my mind, yet there was enlightenment.

“While constantly reflecting on myself during meditation, I realized that everything was my fault… Another thing I am grateful for is that I started talking with my child again, and my husband also became much softer.”

It was because I learned a truth I would never have known in my entire life had I not encountered this meditation. I am always grateful for the method of this meditation and want to recommend it to many people.
