💬 Story: 🏥 “Investing a Week at the Main Center Was a Good Choice”

By Kwon OO / Age 45 / Level 1

2015 was a truly hard year for me. My father-in-law, who had been slightly ill, suddenly fell into a coma and entered the intensive care unit. Medical bills increased exponentially, and the burden of medical and caregiving costs fell on us. Arguing over paying the medical bills, my husband and I drifted apart, and my husband suddenly submitted his resignation at work and wandered. He drank a lot, and he himself struggled.

I had been having a hard time in my own way with my husband’s drinking problem and other issues even before that, but now it was beyond my power. I collapsed on the street, was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope at the hospital, and dizziness and insomnia struck all at once. I became a sick person overnight. I never thought I would go to a neuropsychiatric clinic in my life, but I ended up going to one. Even so, I couldn’t sleep even when taking medication, and even lying at home, I broke out in cold sweats and my body trembled due to anxiety symptoms.

Afraid of being alone, I called the local center for this meditation. It was because I had seen an acquaintance going there in the past, seeing them leave every morning and return in the evening. I thought that if I stayed there all day with people, my anxiety symptoms might at least improve. On the first day I went, I was excited that there was a method to subtract the mind. It was because my mind was overflowing with hardship. From that day on, I went to the local center every morning and practiced until late afternoon. I truly thought this was the only way I could live. I felt my body getting better little by little. It was so amazing. To think my body improved just by subtracting my mind; at first, I worried as my headaches worsened due to a healing crisis, but the guides comforted and encouraged me, helping me a lot by my side.

“My husband, who watched from the side, also went to the Main Center for a week while taking a break from work. He called me his lifesaver, saying I introduced him to such a good place. Saying I saved his life several times.”

My body also improved a bit, and I came to the Main Center upon the strong recommendation of the guide. At first, I was anxious and worried, but right now I am satisfied. For the first few days, because the practice time was long, my body was tired, I couldn’t sleep, and I struggled due to the healing crisis, but the guide helped me a lot to suit me. I think it was a good thing I came. Although it’s a time when the kids need a lot of attention, investing a week was a good choice. I must brag about it too when I go home. I especially really liked the lectures. I think they will be of great help as I live going forward.
