πŸ“– Introduction

Being a full-time parent and spouse often means our entire identity becomes wrapped up in our family. We hold on tightly to our children and partners, fearing that letting go means losing them or losing our own purpose. We mistakenly believe that holding on is the only way to love. But what if true freedomβ€”and genuine loveβ€”actually comes from releasing those heavy, restrictive attachments?

In this post, a dedicated housewife shares her raw and honest journey of confronting her deepest attachments. Through the practice of mind subtraction, she discovered the courage to let go of her clinging mind, allowing her daughter to spread her wings and ultimately finding true liberation for herself.

Read her story to see what happens when a mother finally sets her mind free.

πŸ’¬ Story: πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎ Breaking Away from Bodily Habits and Family Attachments

By Lee Bong-soon / Age 50 / Level 7

After I first started meditating (Levels 1-3), I liked that my stress was disappearing, so I worked hard at it. But from Level 4, it was difficult to discard bodily habits, so I meditated at the local center for a long time. Then I came into the Main Center, did farming, and came to know the meaning of sweat and the joy of living for the world, gradually breaking away from the attachment to my body that I held precious.

I came to think that subtracting the mind is the only way to great freedom and great liberation.

“Having lived as a full-time housewife for over 15 years, as I let go of some attachment to my children and husband, I was able to make the big decision to send my daughter from my embrace for her bigger dreams.”

My daughter, who seemed like she couldn’t do without me, is also doing this meditation and doing well in school. She has developed a big mind and is growing well into a great child who embraces and accepts her friends, and even her mom and dad. Thank you.

To be honest, seeing how selfish and dirty my mind is every day sometimes makes it physically and mentally harder. Since it’s an ongoing process of meditation, more minds come up than at the beginning, and seeing myself constantly falling asleep, there have been more than one or two times I wanted to give up. But I will overcome it to the end.

I sincerely thank all the guides and staff.
