I started my marriage thinking I would not live like my parents. I believed I would live happily. But there was no happiness.

Until the third grade, I lived comfortably in a warm home with a small flower garden. But everything changed when my father’s undisciplined lifestyle caused financial hardship. From then on, I blamed my father, the world, and others for everything.

On the outside, I pretended to be kind and understanding. But inside, I was selfish and calculating. I didn’t like myself, but I could not change.

I got married determined to be happy—but happiness was nowhere to be found. I had many negative thoughts about marriage and found it difficult to understand my husband. We argued constantly, and eventually, even conversation disappeared. We became distant, like strangers.

At work, my perfectionism made things difficult. Even my facial expressions made others uncomfortable.

All the stress I carried, I took out on my two daughters. Instead of understanding them, I pushed them to act according to my expectations. The more I did, the more they resisted.

Because of my husband’s job, we lived apart during the week. I constantly blamed him and complained that he did not help.


🔎 The Moment I Saw My Own Faults

In June 2005, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer. My husband quit his job to care for her, and I became overwhelmed with financial stress.

At that time, I was introduced to this meditation through a coworker.

After just a few days of practice, I realized something shocking—my own faults.

I had blamed my father all my life. But I had never once tried to understand his struggles. Thinking of how he loved me until the day he passed away, my heart broke.

For days, I cried and sincerely asked for his forgiveness.


🌿 As My Mind Changed, Everything Around Me Changed

My husband also began meditation.

Now, even when I tell him to rest, he naturally helps with housework. I feel so grateful for him.

My daughters understand me more and try to help me. My family, coworkers, and even the children I teach all bring me gratitude.

Because my mind changed, my words and actions changed.

Even without exercise, my body feels lighter and healthier. People now say I look peaceful and ask me what my secret is.

My way of speaking has also changed—from slow and dull to lively and confident.

But my dark and difficult world became bright and joyful.

Now, I feel happiness in simple things—a ray of sunlight, the air I breathe, a breeze, a drop of water, a tree, even a small plant.
