✨ Introduction
⚖️ Is denying physical life necessary for enlightenment?
🌿 Master Woo Myung explains that true completeness is not found in suppression, but in living according to nature’s flow.
🌌 The unity of man and woman represents wholeness, while suppression of desire leaves deeper attachments in the mind.
💡 True transformation comes not from denial, but from eliminating the mind itself.
📖 Original Writing by Master Woo Myung
In the Middle Ages, people believed that the soul was under the jurisdiction of God, while the body was under the jurisdiction of the material world. Asceticism emerged because people thought physical pleasure was sinful and a depravity. Due to this, many clergymen did not get married. Were they right?
It is completeness for people to live together. It is not nature’s flow for a person to live unmarried in order for him, alone, to be enlightened. From the viewpoint of Truth, the unity of man and woman is completeness. Suppressing one’s desires and leaving the roots of those desires in his mind is worse than actually getting married. The difference between getting married and living alone is that when one practices asceticism, the mind of suppression exists. When one does not suppress his desires, he does not have this mind. Therefore, he is more easily able to get to heaven.
When God made man, he made him perfect as a human being. A person cannot artificially be made to become God; his mind must be eliminated completely. Furthermore, it is not just man’s soul but also his body belongs to God, because man is God and God is man.
The soul is an individual’s mind mass – it is a person’s mind. A person who takes his mind with him into death cannot enter the land of God. Such a person can only go to the heaven in the land of souls, which is a place where souls with a self who could not enter the true heaven of God gather and live. When one’s soul itself disappears, he can go to the land of gods – the complete land of God.

🌠 Reflect at Santa Clara Meditation
At Santa Clara Meditation, one learns that enlightenment is not achieved through suppression but through eliminating the false mind.
⚖️ Suppression leaves traces in the mind.
🌿 True freedom comes when the mind itself disappears.
