Negative consequences from improper religions abusing people have become serious. For example, there are religions that build lavish and opulent buildings for themselves but neglect charity work for the poor. Why is this?
An improper religion is a religion where Truth does not exist although it may seem as though it does. Religious books were written by people who were not enlightened and many statements about Truth were expressed wrongly, all of which severely hindered people’s understanding of Truth. Truth is not in a book. Nor is it in scriptures. The world of God and Buddha is that which just exists – this is also one’s real self. However people are unable to find Truth because they search for it outside of themselves. One himself is God and Buddha. Man himself is God, but he does not know this because he is not enlightened.
The reason people cannot see God even when their eyes are open is one can see God only when he has died and he no longer exists; when his mind and body, and even his soul have disappeared. The reason people have religion is in order to see God and go to the land of God. However, faith alone cannot ever bring them to the land of God.
Religions have manipulated people’s fears about the end of the world for their own ends. While they decorate their surroundings in a grand way, they do not have any real substance. The Savior they wish for will never appear, even when the end of the world comes; and if he did appear he would not stay. Luxurious buildings and lavish surroundings are wasteful. They have no meaning because Truth does not exist in these things. Since Truth does not exist in these religions, they do not have the inclination to help people. Even when they do, their actions are done with human minds so it does not end up helping people at all. Real Truth does not sparkle or shine, but it is everlasting.
