✨ Introduction
✨ In this insightful teaching, Master Woo Myung explores the deeper meaning behind the Korean expression “a dragon rises from a stream.”
🌿 While commonly used to describe someone who rises from humble beginnings, the word gae-chun also means “Heaven’s opening.”
🌌 This reveals a much deeper truth—that such a person is not merely successful, but a rare being who connects Heaven and earth.
💫 The dragon symbolizes a being who transcends ordinary life and becomes a bridge between the human world and the realm of Truth.
📖 Original Writing by Master Woo Myung
A Dragon from Heaven’s Opening
“A dragon appears from a ‘gae-chun (stream)’”
is a Korean saying to describe a person
who has risen out of his humble beginnings
to become very successful.
However, the Korean word gae-chun
can be translated not only as ‘stream’
but also as ‘Heaven’s opening.’
A flying dragon was considered to be
a rare creature that lives ascended to Heaven.
It was said to be the bridge between Heaven and earth –
a creature that allows for Heaven and earth to be one.
Therefore, that a dragon will appear
from Heaven’s opening
means that a truly rare person is to appear.
