INTRODUCTION

โœจ In this symbolic and insightful teaching, Master Woo Myung explains the deeper meaning behind the prophetic phrase โ€œthe sound of a cow lowing.โ€ Both Kyuk-am-yu-rok and the Buddhist scriptures use the cow as a metaphor for Truth. To โ€œseek a cowโ€ is to seek Truth, and the โ€œsound of a cow lowingโ€ refers to the place where words of Truth are spoken and revealed.

This teaching reminds us that in the final era, people must search for the true place of awakening, the land where Truth is heard, known, and lived. ๐ŸŒŸ

The Correct Meaning of the Sound of a Cow Lowing

Kyuk-am-yu-rok, a Korean book of prophecy, told us that when the end of the world comes we must find the place where we can hear the sound of a cow lowing. The Buddhist scriptures told us that man will go in search of a cow, find the cow, forget the cow, know that the land of resurrection exists and then walk the path of saving all sentient beings or sattvas.

It seems that both books used the word cow to represent Truth. The sound of a cow lowing is the place where words of Truth are spoken, and to seek a cow is to seek Truth.
