Happiness meditation testimonial about letting go of stress selfishness and dissatisfaction through Master Woo Myung meditation method at Santa Clara Meditation

📖 INTRODUCTION

Many people spend their lives trying to fill an inner emptiness.

They pursue success, relationships, hobbies, travel, entertainment, and personal achievements hoping to feel complete.

Yet even after accomplishing goals and experiencing temporary happiness, many discover that the feeling never lasts.

The emptiness returns.

The stress returns.

The dissatisfaction returns.

This meditation testimonial shares the story of Ben W., who spent years searching for happiness while feeling constantly dissatisfied, restless, and uncertain about life.

Although he appeared to be an ordinary person, he later realized that his mind was never truly at peace.

Through the meditation method taught by Master Woo Myung, he discovered a surprisingly simple idea:

Instead of endlessly trying to fill the mind, perhaps the answer was to let go.

As he learned to release selfishness, pride, dissatisfaction, and countless emotional burdens, his relationships improved, his career stabilized, and he discovered a level of happiness and peace he had never experienced before.

This meditation testimonial beautifully illustrates how genuine happiness can emerge when we stop trying to add more and begin learning how to let go.

💬 MEDITATION TESTIMONIAL: “IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY, START BY LETTING GO INSTEAD OF FILLING YOUR MIND”

By Ben W.

Before I began this meditation, I thought I was just an ordinary person.

But looking back, there was not even a single day when my mind felt truly peaceful.

My emotions constantly changed.

My decisions constantly changed.

I changed jobs frequently.

I was selfish.

I was arrogant.

And inside the world created by my own thoughts, I believed that was simply how life worked.

🌧️ “I BEGAN THIS MEDITATION THINKING I HAD NOTHING TO LOSE”

Although I had good friends and family around me, I rarely thought about other people sincerely.

I was always focused on what I could receive.

I viewed everything from my own perspective.

When things went wrong, I blamed my circumstances and the people around me.

Deep down, I was dissatisfied with my life.

Then one day, a college friend introduced me to meditation.

He told me that it had changed his life completely and transformed the way he viewed the world.

I thought:

“I have nothing to lose anyway.”

So I decided to try it.

At the time, I constantly felt that something was missing from my life.

But I could never explain exactly what it was.

🔄 I SPENT YEARS TRYING TO FILL THE EMPTINESS

To fill that emptiness, I tried everything.

• Reading books
• Exercising
• Dating
• Traveling
• Pursuing hobbies

The enjoyment always felt temporary.

Soon the emptiness returned.

And often, it came back with even more stress.

Meditation introduced a completely different approach.

Instead of endlessly trying to fill myself with more things, it taught a simple method:

Let go.

That idea shocked me.

No matter how much I tried to fill my mind, it never felt complete.

For the first time, I considered doing the opposite.

And honestly, even thinking about letting go felt refreshing and liberating.

🪞 WHEN I SAW MY TRUE SELF

As I continued practicing meditation, I began seeing myself more clearly.

And honestly, I felt ashamed.

Growing up, my family was financially comfortable.

I often received what I wanted.

But I was also extremely lazy.

I wanted rewards without effort.

I constantly searched for the easiest path.

Even as an adult, I continued looking for ways to achieve results without working hard.

My pride was enormous.

Whenever I disagreed with someone, I wanted to prove I was right.

I also realized something else:

I had no idea what I truly wanted from life.

I could not answer simple questions like:

“Who am I?”

“What is the purpose of my life?”

Because my mind constantly changed, the direction of my life changed constantly as well.

Meditation helped me begin letting go of all those versions of myself.

🌱 I BECAME SOMEONE WHO NO LONGER HELD NEGATIVE THOUGHTS

While continuing meditation, I started a new job.

My supervisor was demanding.

Whenever I made mistakes, he criticized me directly.

In the past, I probably would have quit after only a few days.

But something surprising happened.

I no longer became irritated.

I no longer filled my mind with negative thoughts.

Instead, I began looking at situations from my supervisor’s perspective.

For the first time, I sincerely wanted to improve myself rather than defend myself.

Eventually, my supervisor began trusting me.

I became more efficient.

More responsible.

More sincere.

I remained at the same job for two years—the longest I had ever stayed anywhere.

Recently, I was even promoted.

For me, that felt like an incredible transformation.

🤝 MY RELATIONSHIPS CHANGED NATURALLY

The changes did not stop at work.

My friendships changed too.

I stopped arguing over small things.

I became more generous.

I no longer expected something in return whenever I gave.

Gradually, I began seeing the world differently.

Instead of focusing on what I lacked, I began noticing everything I had already received.

I became deeply grateful for:

• My family
• My friends
• The people around me
• The world itself

For the first time, I felt sincere gratitude for simply being alive.

✨ HAPPINESS BEGAN WHEN I STOPPED TRYING TO FILL MYSELF

One of the greatest lessons I learned through meditation was this:

The answer was never more success.

More possessions.

More recognition.

More experiences.

The answer was learning how to let go.

When I released selfishness, pride, dissatisfaction, resentment, and endless expectations, something remarkable happened.

Peace naturally appeared.

Gratitude naturally appeared.

Happiness naturally appeared.

Today, I sincerely hope others can experience the same freedom.

Because if you truly want to be happy, perhaps the first step is not filling the mind with more.

Perhaps the first step is learning how to let go.
