Meaning of the Host and Sacred Blood
Did the flesh and blood of Christ actually change into the Host and sacred blood (sacramental bread and wine)? And what happens when one eats and drinks them?
The Host and sacred blood is said to be Jesus Christ because he was a person who had achieved the state of non-existence, a state without self. In other words, as a person of Truth, anything can become the Host and sacred blood, not just bread and wine. As he is a person of Truth, he taught that everything exists within him and that it is the same as eternal life.
The Host and sacred blood is represented by bread and wine; when it is taken with the devout faith that it is Christ’s flesh and blood, it can bring about a miracle. A miracle is something that happens when one does not have any individual minds; when one has become one with Jesus Christ.
Simply put, a person can become one with Jesus Christ and God when he is completely without self. It is because people do not know this that they think of themselves and Christ and God as being separate.
When one has strong faith and acts accordingly, miracles can happen, though they differ according to the form of the person’s ego or self. Anyone can eat and drink the bread and wine but the result varies from person to person.
