For much of my life, my mind was filled with fear, pain, and uncertainty.
As a teenager, I desperately searched for ways to escape those feelings. I rebelled, dropped out of school, and started working at a young age. At first, that path led me into frequent trouble, and I even survived a near-fatal accident.
As I got older, my search took a different direction.
I pursued success, money, recognition, respect, and admiration, believing they would finally bring me happiness and security.
Yet every pursuit ended in disappointment.
In the end, I was left with debt and frustration.
Worse than the financial struggles, I realized that I was still carrying the same fears and insecurities that had followed me since childhood.
Hoping for a fresh start, I moved to Chicago.
There, I continued searching for anything that could help me overcome my suffering.

Gratitude.

That night, when I received that brochure and walked into the meditation center, my search finally came to an end.
