INTRODUCTION

โœจ In this profound teaching, Master Woo Myung explores the essence of the Mindโ€”beyond existence, non-existence, desire, or sensation. ๐ŸŒฟ

The Mind is the source, the empty void that simply exists. It is not emptiness, yet it is not existence. It has everything and nothing at the same time. ๐ŸŒŒ

Only by eliminating the false, greedy mindโ€”filled with desires, emotions, and attachmentsโ€”can one awaken to the true Mind, which is the origin and the image of all creations.

ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG

What Is the Mind?

The Mind is not emptiness.
The Mind is not existent.
The Mind is not non-existent.
There is not a single thing in the Mind;
even this non-existence of things
is non-existent in the Mind.
The Mind is absent of what Buddhism refers to as
โ€˜the five desiresโ€™ and โ€˜seven emotions.โ€™
The Mind is absent of sight, hearing,
sense of smell and taste,
as well as sensation.
The Mind is absent of any sense of
having or not having.
Yet, the Mind simply exists.
The Mind is all things.
The Mind has everything.
The Mind has nothing.
The Mind is not all things.

This Mind is the source.
It simply exists as it is.
It is non-existence;
even its non-existence is non-existent.
Furthermore, the image of all creations is the Mind.
That one lives absent of mind means
he has eliminated his existent mind.
The true identity of the Mind is the empty void.
The Mind is absent of any want, image, or shape.
Such things only exist in a greedy mind.

REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION

At Santa Clara Meditation, seekers are guided to discard the false, greedy mind and awaken to the true Mindโ€”the infinite void that is the source of all. ๐ŸŒ  In this awakening, one realizes that the Mind is both everything and nothing, and lives free of desires and attachments.
