Master Woo Myung teaching on the afterworld self habits suffering and becoming the Universe

Introduction

✨ In this profound teaching, Master Woo Myung explains that the afterworld is not simply a continuation of life in the same way people imagine it while alive.

Many people believe they will continue to exist after death with the same identity, habits, and sense of self. However, Master Woo Myung teaches that this is not truly the case. If one carries habits, tendencies, and the self into death, then one continues in suffering. But if all of these are discarded, one no longer exists in that limited way. 🌿

This writing points to a deeper realization: to cease to exist as the false self is not loss, but alignment with Truth and nature’s flow. When one has no self, one is no longer tied to any place, because one becomes the Universe itself.

Through these words, Master Woo Myung offers a profound reflection on the afterworld, self, suffering, habits, tendencies, Truth, and the Universe.

What is the afterworld like?

People believe that they will exist in the afterworld in a similar way to the way they are while they are alive. However, this is not the case. That one exists means the same as that one does not exist; but this means that he does exist. He exists if he takes his habits and tendencies with him after death but if he discards all of them, he does not exist.

To take one’s habits and tendencies with him into death means he takes all the sufferings he had when he was living. It is Truth and nature’s flow to cease to exist after death; living with self only furthers his suffering. When one has no self, he is not bound or tied to any place because he is the Universe. This is the afterworld.

Reflect at Santa Clara Meditation

🌿 The teaching of Master Woo Myung invites us to reflect on the deeper meaning of existence after death.

This writing suggests that the afterworld is not simply another version of ordinary life, but is closely connected to whether one continues to carry the self, habits, and suffering accumulated during life. If these remain, suffering continues. If they are discarded, one is freed from limitation and becomes aligned with Truth and nature’s flow.

At Santa Clara Meditation, practitioners learn how to discard the false mind, let go of habits and attachments, and move beyond the suffering created by the self. Through the teachings of Master Woo Myung, one can reflect on the afterworld, the end of self, freedom from suffering, and becoming one with the Universe. ✨
