πŸ”Ž Introduction

✨ In this concise and powerful teaching, Master Woo Myung redefines the meaning of sin.

Sin is not merely breaking commandments or social rules. It is not about customs, traditions, or external laws. According to this insight, sin is far deeper β€” it is the self-centered mind of attachment that keeps a person trapped within oneself.

True repentance is not guilt. It is the complete elimination of the false self so that one may become one with the living Truth β€” the Creator.

ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG

Sin

People think sin is
disobedience of the Commandments or of laws.
They think that breaking away from
the customs of their households is also sin.

But sin is the attachment that one has in one’s mind.
When man attains
a self-centered, selfish mind of attachments, that is sin.

For it is due to this attachment-filled mind of his that
man lives trapped therein β€” trapped in himself β€”
and is thus unable to become one with the living Truth.
Therefore, this is sin.

Man’s only sin is his disbelief in the Creator.
To believe means to enshrine the Creator within one’s mind β€”
to completely eliminate the sinner who is oneself
and thus become the Creator within.

Man is his sin;
his fixed conceptions and habits are his sin.
Sin is what confines the whole of one’s mind.
Sin is the fixed conceptions and habits of the individual.

Therefore, man must fully repent
in order for him to eternally live a liberated life.

He must become free of his sins to become one with the Creator.
He must become free of his sins to be born again as the Creator.

He who has been reborn as the Creator is one who is complete.
Failing to become the Creator is
the only sin there is in this world.

🌿 Reflect at Santa Clara Meditation

At Santa Clara Meditation, sin is understood not as moral failure, but as separation from Truth. 🌱

Attachment, fixed conceptions, pride, and self-centeredness create confinement within one’s own mind.

Repentance means discarding the false self completely.
When the self dissolves, the Creator remains.

Freedom is not earned β€” it is revealed when sin, the false mind, disappears.
