๐ŸŒŒ In this deeply insightful teaching, Master Woo Myung redefines the meaning of nirvana, not as disappearance, but as the ultimate realization.

๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ According to Master Woo Myung, nirvanaโ€”also known as spiritual deathโ€”is the complete elimination of the false self. While physical death ends a bodyโ€™s life, the mindโ€™s greed and attachments can linger. True enlightenment comes only when a person discards all conceptions, habits, and the soul itself, thereby discovering their real and whole self.

๐Ÿ’ซ This is not a vanishing into nothingness, but a return to the eternal whole, to Truth, where everything simply remains as it is. The true self is not what disappearsโ€”but what is finally revealed. This is the path to Godโ€™s world, and this is great enlightenment.

What is nirvana (spiritual death)?

Death refers to the end of a personโ€™s physical lifespan. However, if greed remains in his mind at the time of his death, this does not disappear, so in terms of dล, nirvana or spiritual death is getting rid of manโ€™s mind (soul) and his self entirely.

The practice of nirvana is the practice of going to Godโ€™s world, but it is done after one has become enlightened, that is, after one knows the place of the mind. It is the practice of getting rid of oneโ€™s self completely โ€“ all of his conceptions and habits from his life as well as everything that exists โ€“ so that he can discover his real self.

Discarding does not mean disappearance; rather, it signifies the discovery of the whole. When something disappears, it does not really disappear: everything remains just as it is. Such is nirvana; it is great enlightenment.
