What does it mean to say something “just exists”?
Master Woo Myung teaches that ‘of and by itself’ refers to existence that is not defined by form or condition—it simply is, unchanged in essence.

All creations have always been in existence, not because they were made, but because they exist as they are.
To understand this is to see the oneness of existence and non-existence, and to recognize Truth beyond appearances.

What Does “of and by Itself” Mean?
‘Of and by itself” means ‘just as it is’. That something is ‘just as it is’ means that though its traits may change, what it essentially is does not actually change at all. That all creations in the world came forth of and by themselves means that they were and are always in existence just as they are. Because they ‘just exist’, they exist of and by themselves. It means existence and non-existence of form is one and the same.
