✨ INTRODUCTION

In this reflective passage, Master Woo Myung compares clouds, fog, and sandstorms in nature to the obscurations within the human mind. When the mind is clouded, one cannot see Heaven and earth or understand the logic of the world. 🌿

He explains that when these obstructions disappear, Truth’s Light naturally shines within, bringing clarity, wisdom, and eternal life.

ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG

Light II

If there were no light in this world,
heaven and earth would be out of sight.
If there were clouds in this world,
heaven and earth would be out of sight.
If there were fog in this world,
heaven and earth would be out of sight.
If there were a sandstorm in this world,
heaven and earth would be out of sight.

If there are clouds in one’s mind,
he is unable to see Heaven and earth
for they would be out of sight.
If there is fog in one’s mind,
he is unable to see Heaven and earth,
for they are out of sight.
If there is a sandstorm in one’s mind,
he is unable to see Heaven and earth,
for they are out of sight.
If there is no Light in one’s mind,
he is unable to see Heaven and earth
and therefore does not know the logic of Heaven and earth.

If in this world there were only light,
without clouds, fog, or sandstorms,
this world would be bright and easy to see.
Likewise, if there were
no clouds, fog, or sandstorms in one’s mind —
in other words, if there were no sins in one’s mind —
the Light appears therein, and thus he would
know the logic of the world,
know both the living and the dead,
and live eternally as that Light.
