INTRODUCTION
β¨ In this teaching, Master Woo Myung reveals the true meaning of faith. πΏ
Faith is not simply saying βI believe,β nor is it worshiping gods of oneβs own delusions and desires. True faith means cleansing the unclean mind, repenting, and becoming the Mind of Truthβthe infinite, all-encompassing Mind that is God, Buddha, and the Creator. π
Only when the narrow human mind breaks away and one is reborn with the Mind of Truth does real faith appear. Such faith is enlightenment itself: the state of becoming God, Buddha, and Truth.
ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
True Faith
Faith is the conviction one has in his heart – in his mind.
One believes when oneβs mind believes.
Whatever it may be, a personβs mind believes it when
his mind becomes one with it.
God, Buddha, Haneol-nim, and the Creator are all Truth.
To believe in Truth means
to cleanse oneβs unclean mind and repent
and thus become the Mind of Truth,
which is the biggest, widest, highest, and lowest Mind.
Only such belief is true faith in
God, Buddha, and Haneol-nim, and the Creator;
unless a person has conviction in his mind and becomes
one with God, Buddha, Haneol-nim, and the Creator,
he has no faith in his mind.
To have conviction in oneβs mind means that
oneβs mind has been enlightened.
One is able to enshrine God and Buddha inside him
when he has become
the biggest, widest, highest, and lowest Mind –
the Mind of infinity.
Because he has become God and Buddha,
he has faith in them.
It is only when oneβs mind believes
that he truly believes.
When I ask people whether or not they believe in
the God and Buddha that is within them,
they usually say they do.
But such faith is not true faith;
what they are actually believing in are
the gods and buddhas of their own delusions;
what they are actually believing in is a religion in which
they seek to have their desires fulfilled.
It is only when oneβs mind has become as perfect as Truth
that oneβs narrow mind will break
and the Mind of God and Buddha will appear.
And it is according to the degree to which this Mind appears
that one is able to know:
such is enlightenment.
It is according to the degree to which this Mind appears
that he has faith.
God and Buddha do not exist in man.
Man is trapped inside himself due to his sins
and so it is only when he is free from that grave that
there is God and Buddha.
Only when one has completely repented for all of his sins
will he have faith depending on the degree of repentance.
It is only when one has God and Buddha
enshrined wholly in his forehead – in his thought-mass –
that he would have completely repented for all of his sins.
True faith is the state in which
one has become God and Buddha,
or in other words, the faith itself.

REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION
At Santa Clara Meditation, practitioners are guided to cleanse their minds, repent deeply, and discover true faith by becoming one with Truth itself. π This is not belief in delusions, but the direct realization of God, Buddha, and the Creator within.
