INTRODUCTION
🌌 In this writing, Master Woo Myung explains that many people pursue Truth for personal gain—to feel superior, to heal diseases, or to gain extraordinary powers—yet these motivations lead them away from Truth rather than toward it.
This teaching reveals that the only true reason to seek Truth is to become Truth itself, the Creator. Holding on to attachments, expectations, and personal desires prevents this transformation, while complete discarding of the self allows Truth alone to remain as one’s real self. 🌿
Master Woo Myung also clarifies that wisdom is not escaping human reality, but living according to one’s true image. The real miracle is not flying or supernatural powers, but the fact that all creation already lives according to its nature, and only those who have become Truth truly understand how to live. ✨
📖 ORIGINAL WRITING BY Master Woo Myung
You Should Not Pursue Truth in Order to Gain
There appear to be many reasons why people pursue Truth.
Some do so because they want to
overcome their shortcomings by gaining Truth
and then parade their sense of superiority before others.
Some do so because they think that if they become Truth itself
they will be healed of their diseases.
Some meditate because they are under the illusion that
they will be able to fly and have uncanny powers.
However, I have seen how
those who pursue Truth with their own ideas of what it is
fail at reaching it,
for their expectations are far from Truth.
The purpose for why one pursues Truth should be
to become Truth, the Creator.
And in order to be that Truth,
one must let go of what is his—his attachments.
But because he tries to hang on to them,
he has a difficult time.
When one has completely discarded
everything that is of himself,
only Truth will remain, and that Truth will become his self.
This meditation of cleansing one’s mind is about
being reborn as Truth.
Man is man.
If he is sick, he must go to the hospital.
Man is man,
which is why his living simply as he is according to his image
is wisdom.
If there were a person who could fly,
he would be able to win gold medals for every Olympic event.
The person who is the high jump champion
is the one who can fly the highest in the world.
The person who is the long jump champion
is the one who can fly the farthest in the world.
The true miracle of this world is
that all creations are alive,
and they live according to their images.
Every creation does what is in accordance with its image.
Birds fly because they have wings,
but man cannot.
Due to his delusions,
man thinks that human beings are able to fly,
but this is impossible.
Though there are magicians that seem to be able to
create things out of thin air,
such things are mere tricks.
Humans are humans,
beasts are beasts,
and birds are birds.
All creations live within the sphere of their abilities,
and only those who have become Truth know
how to live according to their images.
Even when it comes to one’s diseases,
one’s recovery can begin only when one has faith;
one must cleanse his own mind and also be rid of his mind
in order to be completely healed.
